Hostess going out of business
http://money.cnn.com/2012/11/16/news...stess-closing/
I'm sure most of us (except Aaron) may be happy to see this company go away.
But don't front like you weren't hooked on these "foods" growing up.
So for old times sake, what were your favorite Hostess product(s).
Wonder Bread? Twinkies? Suzie Q's.
For me, it was those apple and cherry fruit pies with "Real Fruit Filling".
I may have one tomorrow in one of my cheat meals.

Now when the biggest guy in the gym is saying he is going to eat some twinkies there will be no more confusion in our minds.

Can't say I'll miss it...I used to get fruit gummies as a treat growing up! The sweetest cereal my mother would buy would sometimes be either Kix or Honey Nut Cheerios! lol When I went to my grandpas house he would feed me all kinds of crazy unhealthy stuff, but it was because all the other kids my age were slirpping down 'HUGS', 'yoohoo', and 'big red' and stuffing the faces with Twinkies, and Ding Dongs!!! I honestly don't even think I enjoyed the heavy sugar hangover with the residual cellophane aftertaste to begin with. I was simply following the crowd. As a parent now, my kids are lucky to get anything that would resemble those things! I bake all the cookies and stuff so I know whats going in it.

the workers wouldn't take an 8% pay cut, rather lose their jobs. now they're all unemployed.

Thoses twinky things made me feel sick as a dog when I tried them for the first time.......However I doubt all of the brands made by hostess will leave the shelves, they will need to liquidate assets so someone will buy those brands

I am not a fan now....but i was raised on them for sure
My hubby thinks all these people running out to buy hostess are dumb. He feels someone will swoop in and save the company. I disagree....
.....anyone else have thoughts on this??

My Aunt managed a hostess store for most of my young until they closed it about ten years ago.. My whole life I grew up on twinkies and ho-hos. They helped contribute to my own childhood obesity but god I will miss them!!!

They aren't going anywhere. The company will file for bankruptcy, scrap it's union contracts, liquidate assests and sell the brands(sometimes to co-op'd companies) and production will pick up agian. They aren't going out of business because there isn't a demand, they're going out of business to get out from under the unions(ironic considering they were founded in Irvin, Texas...a right to work state). The market demands those products and, I'd bet, we see them again

If I need a fix, TASTYKAKE is where it's at. What about ENTENMANNS? Oh boy, I'm in trouble now!
