So its been a little while since I lasted posted, work has gotten crazy again and I put in an application yesterday for another job. So we will see how that goes. It includes a bit more travel but its in a smaller facility so I think the change will be good for me.

Workouts are great still using my body to tell me when to rest and when to workout- such a great way to manage over training or fatigue.

Not doing the comp hope to expand on this further at a later date.

Ah thanks for the thoughts babe.

Great news I made the short list of applicants and have been offered an interview which is next Tues so that is exciting. I am a bit nervous as well though as the interview will be conducted by a panel of 4 people and its been about a decade since I last interviewed for a job. So I am busy prepping as best I can for that resume, references, ensuring all my registration certificates are current etc.

I am probably not 100% comfortable divulging this next bit of info but it happened, its reality and I had to deal with it- so here it goes. The reason I have decided not to do any further coaching is after only 3 weeks on the diet I had a binge. I ate food that I dont usually eat, I ate even though I wasnt hungry, I ate alone in my car, I ate and ate and ate. I dont really know what happened except to say I felt like this was my last day on earth to eat food.

It was distressing and unnerving and I didnt understand why it happened. I wouldn't even say that the diet was super strict or that I even felt extreme hunger on it. At first I was so ashamed of myself I didnt say a word about it to anyone but after a couple days of trying to figure out what had happened I opened up to my husband about it. He really helped to put things into perspective. He told me I was a gorgeous woman who is healthy and enjoys living a fit lifestyle, he told me he thought that since I had started the diet I just hadn't been my usual happy self and asked me to think about why was I risking my health and happiness just to get up on stage in a bikini.

Immediately I knew I had to make a decision to withdraw from coaching and competing. The binge scared me so much that I just cannot put myself in a situation where that could potentially occur again. I am still yet to figure out what triggered it.

So I gave up the competing dream and I went back to been me and doing what I do best.

I am back low carbing with higher fats and enjoying food, amazingly all cravings and the overpowering feeling for sugar has gone. Its really ironic because I could eat anything I want now but I only feel like eating my LC foods. I dont feel tempted, deprived or anxious about food.

I am enjoying my varied workouts with my girlfriend & hubby and still have fitness/performance goals I want to reach. We are looking at a Military style obstacle course and running a 10km toward the end of the year to raise money for the local hospital.

Obviously I am disappointed that this competing thing didnt work out but as a Nurse I understand the true value of health and would NEVER jeopardize that but I hope to continue to be apart of the RX community and contribute in other non competing ways.

    Be happy and healthy

Thank you for sharing, I know it's not easy
I commend you for taking a step back and realizing that competing on stage isn't right for you...so many people do it for the wrong reasons and that is a huge mistake. If you aren't enjoying it, if it doesnt make you happy, then that's all the reason you need to move on.

MOST of the time, the uncontrollable binging..the WTF am I doing binge, is not about being hungry, there is usually an underlying reason that triggers it. So you're very smart to try and take a look at things and see why you made the choices you did.

You are still a fit, healthy and athletic woman! Whether you ever step on stage or not, you have a lot to contribute here and in life and I for one, look forward to what's next for you

    Thankyou for your support girls.

I am doing really well and have just settled nicely back into my groove.
    Workouts are great.
I have just been doing my usual spasmodic workouts a combination of weight training, MMA and HIIT stuff.

I have that extra buzz of energy I usually experience with higher fats.Overall I am feeling fantabulous and my close friends have noticed that I have a spring back in my step again.

Most of all I am not putting any crap food into my body, my daughter had her birthday party this weekend- the usual treats lollies, chocolate and cake and I didnt eat a single morsel. There was zip temptation to even go near that kind of food.

A fitness selfie coming soon just gotta get myself organised.

As soon as my interview is over and I know whats happening job wise I will have more time to get around and see how all you Rx girls are getting on.

    Ok talk soon

I know I know I have been a slacker, I had my interview there was a panel of 4 people who asked me about 4 pages worth of questions and went for about 45 mins. I think for the most part it went well. I find out tomorrow if I get it or not. Alot of people went for the job so keep everything crossed for me.

Havent worked out much this week as my back is giving me a little grief. Diet has been great, staying on my low carb way. Its easy peasy,no stress, no weighing and most of all I feel great and can see body changes especially in lower body (thighs) and abs feel tighter. It goes to show that abs are certainly made in the kitchen not the gym.

A little selfie and come on girls I know I am not the only one with sexy leopard print pajamas. Give me a shout if you own a set

So true about the abs! They are the last thing to come in behind my legs!

LOL! No leopard print pajamas for me, but I just got an awesome leopard print pencil skirt from JCP(JC Penney is a retail clothing store here)! I'm looking forward to rocking that with a pair of knee high boots & black turtleneck sweater later this fall.

    ((((BIG HUG))))
~ For making such a difficult but an intuitive, and very smart decision! It was for the same reason, health coming first, that Bossman & I called it quits on our summer prep. And as I have said to many around me a few times now, no matter the stage, the #1 reason I do what I do, the #1 reason I have chosen this lifestyle is to be healthy, strong & happy. Truth is the way many get to the stage is not through healthy means and the end result on show day is anything but healthy. So good on you! And good on your husband for being so supportive and loving when you needed him the most! You are an amazing mother, wife, athlete, woman Fighter Mama! Here's to finding our "new normal!" xOxOx

Sure does whoot woo, you go sexy gal

Ok so total slacker checking in, its been a rough few weeks on the job front, I didnt get that job I mentioned in earlier posts but did apply for another and got that, which I am super happy about. Its still in aged care (coz I love my oldiers) but the facility is not as big.
Best of all its no shift work yeee haa so maybe my 10 year battle with insomnia will be over and also its only 1 weekend shift a month compared to 3 I do now so I will have more time to spend with the fam on the weekends.
I will also be required to step up to a senior management role when the Director of Nursing is on leave and there is also opportunity for promotion. I start there this week and am so excited.

I am also tossing up now that I will be living normal hours and not getting around in a zombiefied state all the time whether I might join a gym. I have always worked out at home because of the convenience of not having to work around a gyms opening hours. My gf thinks I am crazy as she says why would you pay to go to a gym when you have all that you need at home. I am just thinking it may be something different to try. They do offer a week free trial membership so I might do that and see how it goes.

Anywho things down under are now on the up and up and I am so happy to have my work situation sorted out and can now think about enjoying the other aspects of my life.
I will get around to everyone and see whats been happening in the world of female BBing and general kicking the worlds ass.

    You are so very welcome!

I hear you on the journal slacking...but what's a working gal to do when life utterly gets in the way...keep on doing the do!

Big Congrats on your new job, opportunities to advance and for getting back to life in the waking hours! I bet your family is very happy about this.

Yeah...joining a gym may be crazy when you have all the equipment you need at home...BUT I for one am thankful for my gym peeps! In a way they keep me accountable when I go missing in action for a few days. On top of that is the day to day support...especially when I am prepping to compete. I for one find it invaluable...plus I am pretty darn social. I like being around like-minded people from the hard core to those who are just trying to get & stay healthy. AND I do take advantage of the variety of equipment! Especially cardio again during prep, to keep from going crazy with the amount of time I spend. It sure is nice to jump from machine to machine to keep it going. So I say if any of these factors are key for you, go for it!

    Stay happy & healthy! x0x0x
