With bodybuilding, you need to take it all with a grain of salt.

You might want to look up the scorecards from the 1980 and 1981 Olympias as well.. might help you understand better.

BARELY won? According to the scorecard Phil got straight 1's and Kai got all 2's. It was not close at all like people think. IMO Phil will dominate as long as he shows up in shape and I've never really seen him off except for 1 olympia. He can definitely win 8 just like Ronnie did. Kai was hard as hell and most people agree he is Phils only real threat. He still didn't manger to get a single judge to give him first.

I always like to cheer for the underdog and would like nothing more than for someone to knock Phil off his thrown. I'm a realist though and I'm well aware how the Mr. O works.

You know, I was somewhat of a Cedric fan before all that. I did think he was wasting his potential though, and still do actually lol.

He use to come off as pretty humble until that. He makes a ridiculous statement, calling out Mr. Olympia on his personal FB page and fan page. He then proceeds to LIE to me personally and on his FB about it, to cover his ass when I of course said something.. despite him liking every negative comment about Phil in the thread lol.

I have one of the biggest mouth's here, I think we can all agree on that. However, I don't open my mouth unless I can back it. I have made ridiculous posts on here and facebook. However, every time I said I could do something, beat someone, or something of the sort I did it. I don't sit here and say I will ever beat Cedric in a show or that I will even become a pro bodybuilder. This guy needs to earn the right IMO to think he can call out top pros like that. He has done very little in the grand scheme of things to prove he is the elite pro he could be.

Imagine a day after winning the Olympia, and someone calls you out who didn't even do the show lol. A true professional would have said. "Congrats to Phil Heath on his 2nd Olympia win!" or nothing at all if he truly disliked him.

I think it bothers me too, like I mentioned before, this guy has the genetics to be GREAT. There are so many guys who would kill for those type of bodybuilding genetics to compete or be a pro in general, yet how he handles himself on stage, offstage(this weekend), and the different excuses are quite annoying and he is wasting it I feel.

So Cedric can't call phil out because he hasnt "earned" it. So what makes you, you think YOU "earned" the right to call out Cedric?

oh btw. you shouldn't call Cedric out about his mandatory poses when your hitting an ab thigh like your avatar... that's horrible.

Although the scoring system back then was very different it looks like Arnold didn't run away with it. He won by a few points. Of coarse in 1981 Franco shouldn't of won. I don't know how the scoring went down and it doesn't matter. That show nearly killed bodybuilding.

As far as what the "industry experts" think, does that matter nearly as much as what the 7 judges think? If Kai is ever going to beat Phil he'll have to convince several of the judges that he's the best. How many "industry experts" thought Branch should've won the 2012 Arnold? I'm sure not many.

Take it for what it's worth brother but I put value on what the judges think because they are ultimately the ones that decide the final placings whether it be politics or whatever. IMO if every judge gives the same guy a 1 than it wasn't that close.

I wouldn't mind throwing my 2 cents in because I often get accused of being a hater of the sport. I think people like myself and matty have to be careful because when we get too negative we can come off like a bunch of negative nancy's who just sit around unemployed, uneducated, and just are mad because we don't place well enough.

In reality that's not really the case. I think some people like matty and I just get extra turned off by the negative stuff. When npc promoters tell you you can get extra looks if you come "hang out at his house". When you get approached at shows to get sucked sideways.

For me I got the impression pretty quick I could get a lot farther in the sport if i got into prostitution. The problem was I'm an educated person with a serious career so the whole thing just really turned me off.

Also, the large amount of uneducated, unemployed, losers in the sport...there are just so many degenerates. In my mind being huge doesn't make up for being a degenerate. So it's like I'm in this professional "real" job all day and my sport is full of degenerates.

it's a fine line because honestly if you met me in real life or matty i absolutely guarantee you'd think "wow these guys are humble, cool, nice guys not like the negative assholes they seem like online". I think people like matty and I are just regular guys who love working out and getting big but get more turned off by the negative part of the sport more than others.

Many just shrug off the negative...it really bothers me...I'm not sure why.

Regarding your mention of multitudes of degenerates in the sport, I agree with you. I compete in the NPC, and even before then, have come to know many. However, this is only an issue if you (generally, not specifically) are weak-willed enough to allow their degeneracy to impact you.

Backstage at shows, I have my earphones in, pump up by myself and frank;ly disassociate myself from the competition, mainly because I am disinterested in feigning solidarity thorugh competition. Thus, the existence of degenerates doesn't affect me.

That said, there are degenerates in all walks of life. I propose it is easier to spot a degenerate in the venue of bodybuilding competition because gear-talk may lead to other drug talk one finds questionable, etc, however there are surely, even in a white-collar professional work-environment such as the one you, and I visit daily, degenerates existing among you at work. You my not be as exposed to it as political correctness and office politics precludes the playful banter and off-the-cuff remarks that might occur backstage at your NPC show from occurring at the water cooler, but you never know what your colleagues do at night - we all have vices.

Matty's remarks about Cedric and Chris are opinions that I happen to disagree with, however opinions are opinions. What I take umbrage with is his disdain for bodybuilding based, it seems almost entirely, on the shady side of the sport, at the apparent willful blindness to its existence in all the other sports he claims greater respect for. Mostof the NBA are tatted-up gangbangers whose talent alone placed them on a court rather than the street-court in the South Bronx. Michael Vick's predilection to dog-fighting, for example, to me, is far more degenerate than injecting 3cc of tren in my ass daily. And female UFC fighters to me, admittedly chauvinistically, are far more nefarious a trend than even the advent of putting non-squatting pretty boys in board shorts on a bodybuilding stage.

If the distinction that Matty and others who once held bodybuilding a little higher than they do now, is the absence of monetary reward for correlative sacrifice, then the passion is gone anyway, and no amount of penance for grapefruit-fuckery, it would seem, could bring back the love.
