AnglicanBeachParty's run at the 2013 Great Lakes Ironman
Well, that was different! My complete profile and all my posts and comments, since the beginning, seem to have been wiped from the RxMuscle forums! I think they are trying to bring them back.
But, anyhow, I thought I would just get a new contest prep thread started here, to let you know that I am still alive and kicking!
I'm 20 weeks out from my show.

How is the prep going?

The prep is going very well. My only current issue is a foot injury, which I think is from wearing ill-fitting shoes while doing cardio. My foot is now bruised/sore to the point where I can no longer do my traditional cardio workouts. I am going to look into finding a place to swim laps.

Well, my prep has hit a snag. There is time enough to recover from it, though.
I've developed a foot injury from wearing ill-fitting (too tight!) shoes. I can't do any treadmill or elliptical work. Can't swim well enough or far enough to do that. I'm going to have to take some time off from cardio and let the foot heal. I will be getting new shoes, needless to say.Last edited by AnglicanBeachParty; 05-17-2013 at 06:36 AM.

I got new shoes. Never again will I try to save a few bucks by ordering what I think I need via the internet. We have a great, local running shoe store, less than half a mile from my house. I ended up paying less there than for the pair I got from the internet, too.
These are a size wider and half a size larger. They feel SO much better. I expect to try a cardio tomorrow (Tuesday).

Cardio went great last night, thanks to the new shoes. 45 minutes on the elliptical machine, with no pain in the foot!

Training is on track. I have started having my wife use bodyfat calipers on me to assess my bodyfat percentage. Last measurement was 11.6% bodyfat, 159.1 lbs lean, 20.9 lbs fat. I will have her measure me with the calipers again tomorrow.
I have 18 weeks to go until my contest.Last edited by AnglicanBeachParty; 05-23-2013 at 06:14 AM.

17 weeks out. I had 2 events on the weekend which resulted in cheat meals for me, so I am anxious to get back on the diet plan!

I'm on track for this contest. Weight is still hanging at 180 pounds, but body fat percent is creeping down. I am cranking up the cardio, and will get in five 45 minute sessions this week.
