Sadly, Chrisite's surgical attempt will end up being a failure, i.e. Carny Wilson, John Daly, etc. It is not solving the underlying issues he obviously has with food and is taking the easy way out. The problem is when they don't correct the eating disorder, they stretch the stomach back out over time, therefore regaining the weight.

Great article
Being a former fatty myself all I can say, is that it is a difficult negative cycle to turn around, but was the best decision of my life
I feel it, in almost all cases (rare disorders), is really a way of life to be fat and physically inactive, and after a while it is just this huge powerful delusion. Family members of mine advise me against protein overdose! (200g per day average) whilst they consume copious amounts of sugar and fats and wonder why the gym isn't working???...
If a longtime athlete like Mr Meinrod is feeling the negativity rather than respect he deserves it is a joke
I feel sorry for Christie... If only his political ambition to be president is reason enough, for taking care of his health and not his family or himself for that matter... Well that's just tragic

Your entire post was spot-on but rather than ignore steroids I wish the U.S. would embrace them. Long-term studies should be conducted and citizens should have easy access to hormones that build health and strength rather than focusing on medicines which only treat symptoms and - in some cases - make matters worse.
The money spent on the so-called war on drugs is absolutely inexcusable.Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | Join Rx Muscle on Facebook!

X2! This is the problem with society today, IMO. It falls into the "everyone is a winner" attitude that is so prevalent. Everyone is treated with kid gloves and you're looked down upon for setting goals and striving to be better than average.

It would definitely be nice to see America embrace steroids, and all drugs for that matter. I feel there is more to be gained from education, dose-controlled studies, and peer reviews than spending tons of money on drug enforcement in the streets and court rooms. I think all drugs should be legal. Informal sanctioning by quality employers subjecting their employees to scheduled and random drug testing would be enough to detour most people. I would be willing to sacrifice a generation of drug users for the greater good of society ad infinitum.
I feel like the government is starting to realize this to a lesser degree with some drugs, marijuana being a good example. They can tax the sales of cannabis, let a doctor and patient openly discuss effectiveness of use, and deter abuse by recommending suitable dosage.
Will the government ever swallow it's pride and decriminalize all drugs and admit the war on drugs isn't working? Probably not, but each baby step towards that makes the idea look more and more attractive as the results sell themselves.

America declares war on things when it wants to create an infrastructure that depends on never eliminating the thing that is declared war on. That way it goes on forever & creates an ever increasing technocracy that exists to control (not eliminate) it. Of course, America doesn't declare war on other countries it goes to war with anymore. In fact, the last declared war was WWII.

Why would America want to embrace something that could make you live a healthier, happier life? Then you'd only use hospitals for things like emergencies and get the chance to become addicted to drugs they do profit on like anti-depressants. That's crazy talk. There's no money in that.
