Well, feeling rather shitty lately! I'm not sure if I'm in a funk or what. I feel like if I have a week with strong numbers the next week I'm sucking it!! Really frustrating to say the least. I have two months until the powerlifting meet and eight months until my figure competition in October. Hope I can get my shit together soon because right now I feel like an epic failure. Hoping for a good week!!

Sorry your not feeling the greatest! Hang in there! Remember - THIS IS A MARATHON - not a SPRINT! Meaning time, patience, endurance, pacing yourself, and being realistic to the SELF pressure we put in our own heads! Often times - it truly is a rollercoaster ride of ups/downs/ and everything in between! Add to that - time of year and this crazy winter we are having - tends to put the damper on energy and moods! HANG TOUGH, CHIN UP, LASER FOCUS, and know that EVERY step forward is a step towards where you want to be (even in those times it feels the opposite!)!! Let me know if you need anything or if I can help!!!
Are you heading for the Mash again?
BIG HUG!!

Good day, no great day at the gym yesterday. Felt energized and strong on my lifts. Truth be told, I had been slipping on my cardio and now I am back on track. I think self doubt really got the better of me so it was time to end my pity party and get my shit together. As they say, you can have results or excuses, not both!!!

Minor bump in the road this weekend but of late, I feel like my training has been solid. I had a couple of PRs this past week, 155 bench and 205 squat. On Saturday I'm attending a mock PL meet to prepare for April 5th. As usual time seems to flying!!!
Purchased a stationary bike on Sunday so I plan on backing off on running for my cardio. I will miss the running but, it seems to be the consensus that biking is the better option.
Diet has been a challenge since my competition!! However, I think I have a solid plan now and am ready to push on forward. I have learned a lot about what not to do after the next competition. Last body fat check I was sitting at 14% and weight is holding at 120.

Having your own cardio equipment is beyond awesome! Nice purchase.
Any post-comp tips you care to share?

Have a nice meal after the show and even breakfast. But have your coach give you a plan to gradually add back in food. I initially went through a phase where I couldn't get enough to eat then my appetite went to zero. I was freaking out because my rigid schedule was gone and I had no plan!!! Jump right back into working out and planning for your next competition.
Don't doubt yourself for a minute. You have worked very hard and you have earned your place on stage!! Most of all have fun and enjoy the experience. You will meet a lot of people and they will share their experiences and advice. Soak it up!! Relax and show off your hard work!! I can't wait to see your pics and hear all about it.

My new stationary bike is awesome!! Considering I do most of my cardio at the ass crack of dawn (4:00am) it has proved to be a wise purchase!!
Tomorrow I'm participating in "PR" day/mock PL meet at one of the local gyms in preparation for my April 5th meet. Hoping for PRs, but most importantly some insight on what to expect at the PL meet. It's times like this when I really wish I could be face to face with my coach!
Have a great weekend all!

Thank you for the advice! I am definitely looking forward to going out for dinner after finals and I am going to ask my coach if I can do brunch the following day too. There are so many things I want to eat that I miss eating, but I am not going to binge or go overboard... quick way to set myself back! There will be a post-show plan in place for sure.
Hope you are having a great weekend and have fun at the meet.

PR/PL Day went great!! I was very nervous and felt really awkward being the only outsider at this particular gym. As a result of that and having not had any prior instruction on the commands, I was somewhat conservative on my lifts.
Bench was 115, 125, 145. Deadlift was 205, 225, 240. All the lifts felt good. I placed 1st of the females and 3rd overall. So needless to say, I am really excited for the PL meet on April 5th!!
I feel like training is going very well overall. I am not as lean as I should be at this point and I am continuing to work on perfecting my diet.
Have a a great week everyone!!

Nice work! I think the mock meet is a great way to get a feel for things. One of the things we never really think about in the gym is the commands, pauses etc..now that you've got a feel for that, you'll be ready to go.
The best part about powerlifting is that it's just YOU vs. the BAR. Period.

Thanks! I have to admit I did feel like a bad ass! It is amazing what a difference proper form and coaching can make. I was amazed at the poor form of the other female athletes. Considering I was at their "powerlifting" gym!!! Working with Austin has been great and thanks of course to my "drill sergeant" husband for making sure my form is top notch!
