Nutratroy pitching in Natty section.
Hey Guys, I am a huge fan of Big Dave & John's & totally support RXmuscle!
I have worked in the industry for about 12 years, all great times. I am an avid fan of all bodybuilding and a student of the game. I have also worked with some greats along the way. As a Natural Pro, I KNOW the struggles & hardships. If I can help anyone then I payed it forward.
Here is a quick overview of my natural contest history. I am a huge Jeff R and Deirk fan as well. My goal is team U next year. I am winning the pro universe first this nov in Miami
I started out at 170 lbs my 1st show to my last pro show which was 210.Detonate

I know what you mean Troy, I am 6' and competed at 195. Filling out the frame takes time.
What do you think are some of the more common mistakes made by naturals when competing/dieting and also mistiaked that are made in the off season ie training?

I also wanted to state before we get going, I am not a genetic freak. I am a true blue collar worker. I actually keep a time card with my totals and gym log time. Instead of a "text book" I keep it rather old school and do it this way. Makes me feel all tough and shit...lol.
1-Yes, I am married to IFBB Figure Pro Krissy Chin.
2-I work for and am an athlete of ALR industries. (Author really is nuts)
3- I use to do all my prep by myself, but last year I hired Layne To over see my whole year's prep from start to finish. He is an amazing gentleman and friend.
Stats:
Weight 230 (offseason)
Contest 207
Ht 6'2
Age 43
Years training 12
I believe in Keto and low carb diets. No one is the same nor is a diet plan. Their are underlying guidlines to follow, but in the end, it's about daily adjustments.Detonate

Hum good question. IMO-
First rule is abuse of adaptation. Muscles trained, foods eaten, NCS stimulators, any OTC supplementation, all need to be cyclic. Life is all about balance. you just can't pound everything hoping for results.
2nd is lack MVI (mental Visual Intensity). Most really can't get into that painful mind set. For example, we all know the common standard "Mind-Muscle Connection" when training. But IMO that is really in general really weak. That's just learning to bounce your breast to impress some bro's by simple mind-muscle control. Layne Norton is someone who gets MVI and utilizes it to its fullest capacity!
Most naturals can't afford to lack in MVI. Proper MVI is as strong as anything if utilized right. Nattys don't have the luxury to use some things for higher positive nitrogen retention or "serious" growth potential, so MVI becomes much more important. This plays into their mind set and pain thrash hold. If you can visually picture the working muscles of your back or legs growing in your mind while you train them, they will grow. You have to push the limits and recover properly.
I suggest DC Style for nattys who are starting out. Eric Broser has some solid training advice as well. Educate your self to be a better body builder.
Most common mistakes, processed foods will not grow muscles daily. Nor get your ripped for a show either. No one ever does their color right either backstage!Detonate

That's a real tricky question. It depends on what your needing to drop and for how long?
I would say if your a well seasoned vet, then low carb would be the way simply because you know yourself.
If it would be something serious like fitting into a wedding dress or tux and you've been a freaking pig, I highly suggest you buy some Species gear and get your keto on!Detonate

Troy - you are definitely a great inspiration for bodybuilding as well as a great ambassador for it.. it's rare you find a good combination of someone who has knowledge along with the articulation skills to pass that knowledge along (also, minus the ego)
Now the next question - are you doing both of those shows? (Wichita) or just the one in November... if you are 21 weeks out, I would guess only the show in Miami ... since I think I figured out that question - the next question is - do you need another fan to come along to watch you at your show???
