So my little guy has a cold. I was up with him for most of the night, so mommy is exhausted. Thankfully after he feel asleep around 3am he stood sleeping until about 9:15a so I got a few hours.

He woke up feeling and looking much better, so I was able to sneak out to the gym during his nap.

    Very quick work out....

    Sat 9/7
    Legs

    Superset
    A. Leg press (wide, toes pointed out)- 95lbsx12, 145lbsx12,x12,x12
    B. DB SLDs- 30s x12x12x12x12

Single Leg Ext- 30lbs each side x12x12x12x12
    Box Lunges- 15s x12x12

    Standing Calves- 95lbsx12, 120lbsx10, 145lbsx8
Calves on seated leg press- 30lbs x30x30

Then raced out of gym, picked up a coffee, and walked back into the house just has he was waking up...phew...

You look fantastic! In training for my first competition I'm learning it truly is a lifestyle change. It is very hard at times to manage work, family, and other daily obligations! Balance is the key. Only you will know when it is right for you to hit the stage again.

These past two years since my son was born has truly been a time of lessons in all areas of life. It was very hard for me to even step foot back into the gym...I was dealing with a lot of stuff. But once I did I finally started to feel like "me" again.

I live the lifestyle of a figure athlete, so might as well just go for it. That's my thinking right now...but again I do need to figure a few things out before making an all out commitment. The financial aspects being a major factor.

Wishing you the best of luck on your first show!!

So yesterday was a lost day...I went home Monday afterwork with the biggest stomach ache. it was so bad that my belly was actually protruding. I looked 4months pregnant. Needless to say but I hardly got any sleep. I called out of work Tuesday morning b/c I still wasn't feeling well. I wasn't able to see my doc untill about 1pm...and of course by that time I was feeling better and my stomach was back to normal size. A little bloated and tender, but I didn't look like I has an alien in my belly.

Diagnosis? Good question...no idea what the problem was. Every question my doctor had with regard to my food intake, what I ate in the past 24hrs, etc... gave no information.I have to make an appointment to see a gastrologist as a follow up. Ugh...

I keept my food intake very light yesterday, drank my water and lots of ginger tea. By night time I was 80% back to normal, as of this morning feeling good. HUNGRY like crazy, but overall ok. I was able to dragg my ass out of bed this morning make it into to the gym too. Well on to this morning's workout:

    Back/Bi's/ Abs

    Hyper Ext- 20lbs x15x15, 25lbs x12x12
    1 arm DB Rows- 30sx10x10x10, 35sx10
    Lat Pull downs- 70lbs x10x10, 75lbs x10x10
(ever reach up to do pull downs and realize you forgot to shave your under arms...???)

    BB Curls- 50x10x10x10, 55x9
    A. DB Hammer Curls 20sx10
    B. BB Reverse Curls 30lbs x10
    A. DB Hammer Curls 20s x10
Preacher Curls HS Machine- 25lb plate x10x10, 35lb plate x10

    *Abs done in between sets
    Crunches on ball 4x25
    Lying Hip Raise 4x20

30min on Stair Master- Progressive Intervals

    Thurs. 9/12

Just cardio today...I decided to switch things up a bit and I took the cycle class at the gym this morning. It was about 50min long. Not too bad, my plan was for 45min of cardio.

I didn't follow the instructor exactly....yes I don't follow instruction well... I threw in more sprints while she wanted to up the bike resistance to hills, and I was standing in position 2 and 3 when she wanted to sit..... Overall it was a good workout

Looking forward to getting some rest this weekend. I have to get to the gym ealry tomorrow though so I won't get to get the extra sleep until Sunday. But...the flip side is if I get my workout done early, I'm home early and I have the entire day to take care of things and to try to relax a bit in between. I've already announced that I WILL NOT be cooking this weekend, so we will order in something yummy for Saturday night cheat

Great minds think alike! Being the control freak that I am I can't stand someone else telling me what to do with my workouts. Especially when it comes to cardio! I took a spin class once a few years ago. Never again.

Yeah...I should've known better, plus my ass is SOOO SORE NOW!!!

So I was in the gym by 7am this morning, got my workout done and made it back home just before little guy work up. Big sis was getting ready for track practice so she kept a quick eye on him for me. I had a pretty good workout. Had some guy that I see every morning come over and compliment me on my squats.

    Sat 9/14

    Compound Sets
    A. Leg Press (wide stance toes pointed out)- Sled weight + 70lbs x20
    B. Full Squats- 135x12
    A. Leg Press (wide stance toes pointed out) Sled weight + 70lbs x20
    B. Full Squats- 135x12

    BB SLDLs- 95lbs x12x12x12x12

    BB Front Squats- 70lbs x15x15, 75x15x15
*I did these with a 2sec pause on bottom...I will work my way up to 3....good god these are tough!! I felt like I was going to pee myself a few times there

Standing Calves on Smith- rack weight + 70lbs x25x25x25x25
    Seated Calves- machine weight + 15lbs x45x45

Did some quick stretching and ran out. Mission for the day accomplished! Plus the added bonus of a compliment!
