Posted by "Undercover Pro" on another board when asked about 3 meals vs 6
"Better to split up meals into as many as possible. It's just common sense. Give your body a steady supply of nutrients and you put it in an anabolic state. For example: If you drink very little fluid, your body will hold more fluid as a preventative measure. Give your body more than enough fluid for a while, and your body will hold less. Your body is an amazing machine. It adjusts based on supply and demand!
IIFYM, or "if it fits your macros", is a stupid idea IMO. It may work for some people. I guess if you are always looking for the lazy way out, it might be for you. Personally, I rather eat the correct foods that I know work, and that are OPTIMAL for me (and muscle growth). There is no way someone can tell me frosted flakes is as good for me nutrient wise as the equivalent amount of yams. Everyone wants the easier way out, and that's why this new fad has gained popularity."Training / Prep / Off-season coach: Kevin McDowell / Extreme One

Once again proof that people don't understand the true concept of IIFYM. I don't follow it because it would, initially, make my life more complicated but it's not about frosted flakes and poptarts.
Sure some eat these things on a regular basis but that's not the general concept of the diet.

IIFYM is brilliant.
Some of its loudest supporters on the other hand are often not so brilliant. Just loud.
Many do know what they are doing, but let their physiques speak for their methods.
The true forum of IIFYM is amazingly simple and healthy
Drop calories 15-20% off of your TDEE
Split those calories up:
1-1.25 gr/ protein lb of mass
.35-.5 gr/ fat per lb of mass
Make up the rest in carbs
Choose foods that fill your micro nutrient needs and fiber first, then remaining calories/macros (if you have any left) with foods you enjoy eating..
Many people are able to get down to 3% bf doing this.
Any anyone that has, will tell you that once calories get restricted and hunger kicks in, they naturally gravitate to foods that help with satiation.
