    Default in need of guidance

i am 55 years old and prepping for a physique competition. The show is under 4 weeks away. I started my 2nd cycle ever 6 weeks ago. (should have started 10 weeks ago). My cycle is anavar 20 mg, Primobolan(1/2cc e4d), test 100 (e4d)1/4cc, and i was planning on finishing up with a stack of clen and T3 for the last 2 weeks (if need be). My diet has been perfect, really clean. My macros are 135p,100c,25f. I have not lost an ounce in 6 weeks. And i'm not one of these people who are hung up on the numbers on the scale. I did want to see the "body fat" numbers going down. There's areas of my body that i see improvement and gains but my middle is still thick. I do 6 days of cardio,3 hiit,3 steady state. All 30 min. I weight train 5 days on, 1 off. Last week i had to go to drs for something unrelated and he insisted on bloodwork. They called yesterday to inform me that my liver was stressed, my testosterone was elevated, my b12 was off the chart, and my thyroid was under active. I do take liver cleanse everyday. I expected the testosterone, i did not expect the thyroid under activity. Is this normal, while being "on"? Should i not take the t3 as i had planned? I'm afraid if i throw in a thyroid stimulator into the mix, maybe i'll be doing damage... Maybe i should move the date of competition to november???

you shouldn't get blood tests ON. all your numbers will be wayyy off. I would suggest to come off everything, get blood work in 6-8 weeks and pick a later show.

What is "test 100"? Is that test prop? I would probably drop that now so you can eliminate that as a source of water retention.

And I agree w/ Tammy. Just competition dieting alone can suppress your thyroid. While you're going thru the changes that are the intentional result of competitoin prep, your body is going to be stressed in so many ways. Most stacks are going to stress your liver, regardless of liver support. They're steroids - they stress the shit out of your body and there's no way around it. That's part of what you have to be willing to accept as part of it. And there's sort of no point getting blood work while you're "on" because any results that a doctor sees are going to be way the hell out of "normal" range, because that's what steroids do. At the very least, you're going to have a freaked out doctor who is going to want to put you on a bunch of other stuff to "treat" the symptoms the tests are showing. Except those symptoms are basically 'intentional" if you've chosen to cycle.

yes, the test100 is prop. I will drop that. I didn't want to have bloodwork done, they weren't letting me out of the office without it. I expected it to be crazy. The only thing i was worried about was the thyroid and i wanted to know if it was normal to read underactive. I'm going to continue on with my plan to compete this fall, although it's looking like november. I will stack with clen and t3 just to finish up. But you think i'll be good for now with just primo and anavar? Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it...

prop will hold water. but I would be concerned adding t3 to an already sluggish thyroid. your cycle should not cause thyroid issues that you are presently on. what was your blood work like in the past?

You can do basic OTC supps for thyroid support like iodine (e.g. kelp) that would help.

I had good results using acupuncture to stimulate a sluggish thyroid several years ago. If you're still going to compete, you won't have blood work to tell you if it's working or not but if you start seeing changes in your body again you'll know. It was maybe a 2 or 3 time treatment if my memory is correct.

    Good luck.

    Hi Sassy,

If you were getting ready for a show, but did not want to use t3 to avoid sides, would using kelp help with losing weight assuming your diet and cardio is in check? Could you run it for 12-16 weeks straight?

    Thank you

Kelp is a good thyroid support. Mostly it would be helping to keep it "normal" under the stresses of dieting. That said - are you talking about competition or just dropping some bodyfat? I would really not worry about thyroid that much if you're just dieting. I would be sure you've gotten a full physical to ensure that your thyroid isn't compromised to begin with. Thyroid supplements are not going to be the item that does the heavy lifting of a fat loss protocol.

NO I would not play around w/ t3 for 12-16 weeks.

I would very much work on optimizing your diet, supported by consistent resistance training and cardio and good quality recovery. If you're not getting the results you want, then I would venture that diet and cardio are NOT in check and need refining - starting w/ diet - never stick to the "same" diet - it needs to always be tweaked as you go to keep the body responding. Same w/ resistance training & cardio. Get those producing results. If you're stalling, then revisit what you are doing before you start looking for drugs to make the difference.

Thank you for your detailed reply. I mostly would be looking for a natural way that could help me lose extra BF, as opposed to having to add t3. After I read about kelp I was thinking it might be a good option to combine with a strict diet and cardio protocol to aid in losing more BF.
