Protein Intake
What do you use for your typical protein intake?
I have seen some ladies stating that they discovered that they don't need to keep their daily protein amounts very high, and still successfully gain/ maintain muscle?
Do you go lower than the typical 1g- 1.5g of protein per lb of lean body mass?
I've been having some digestive troubles so I am considering playing with my protein in-take to see if it helps. Just not sure how low I should go?

I've never went below maintenance (1g per )
May want to look into OTHER aspects for digestive issues - Gluten? Fiber? Have you changed up anything recently that possibly is either not agreeing or your body is trying to adjust?
I tend to have a pretty sensitive gut and almost any nutritional change seems to create some level of adjustment period - gas, bloating, constipation, etc....
Do you take any sort of Digestive Enzyme?
When you say "playing with your Protein" - do you mean "SHAKES" or all together? I know some of the shakes I've tried in the past DO NOT agree with me - I switched to Species Isolyze and have never looked back - ZERO issues in that category!! Also - I use Species Fiberlyze - HUGE help there with digestive issues also.
Just some thoughts??~Lorrie ~ Mediocrity is NOT an option! ~

Nah, I pretty much eat the same stuff all the time. Similar to you I also have a sensitive gut, so I stay away from things that have caused me issues. My gallbladder was removed in 1997 so since then I allways keep careful eye on how I eat.
I take a acidophilus supplement every morning, and Papaya & Pineapple Enzymes tablets after meals.
My shakes are fine, been using ON Gold Standard Whey for years. I'm just wondering if maybe my body is having a hard time digesting protein since I've been having issues of bloat, gas, and discomfort more frequently.

I always get at least 1.25-1.5g of protein..Especially during prep, which IMO helped keep me feeling satisifed much more than a lower protein diet did.
I definitely agree with Lorrie, I don't think it's so much the amount of protein but the sources(unlss you're only recently increased the amount you're eating, it may take time for your body to adjust). If it's a digestion issue, I'd take a look at not only WHAT protein you're eating but what other food sources you're combining it with.

I go with at least 1 gram per pound and def a little more to build especially during low carb. I go up to about 1.3 per pound. I actually avoided shakes and powders all summer and did all food protein; it is a pain but my body processes food better than powders SO many powders contain fillers and sucralose, and dairy....the vegan and natural ones often are high in sodium and or sugar. it is almost easier to do real food because you know exactly what you are eating! natural proteins such as jay robb, micalazzi ice, Bionic Edge, raw meal and hammonized are decent
