Quest Nutrition - Double Chocolate Chunk
Quest Double Chocolate Chunk
Taste
First off, I am a HUGE fan of Chocolate brownie, and after reading about a half dozen reviews since this started to pop up and people got to get their hands on the bar at the Olympia I had high expectations. I got my bar and it was on the softer side as you can see in the picture, so the chocolate chunk right in the center was pretty gooey like it was microwaved for a short period (10 seconds) which made for a nice flavor/taste. The overall bar is a bit different than a chocolate brownie, it provides more of a fudge like taste and a richer/deeper chocolate than the chocolate brownie. The chocolate chunks are a great addition to the bar that resembles again more of fudge/chocolate than a brownie replica in the Chocolate Brownie bar. Point blank this bar tastes like a Hershey bar infused with fudge.
So for those of you who are Dark Chocolate/Fudge fans over brownies this is your go to bar. And I have to agree with others out there that this bar does top the Chocolate Brownie for overall taste. I thought this would be similar when I saw quest was to release a new chocolate flavor, but they made it richer, denser and packs a bigger punch on your taste buds. I would have to put this as my new favorite bar as it edges Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. The chocolate chips in the CCCD are great, and the cookie dough is strong, but the overall richness in this bar combined with the chocolate chunks does me in. This does come very close, but I will have to slide Apple pie to #4 and Chocolate brownie to #3 with CCCD at #2
Texture
My bar was pretty soft, and I only consumed half of it and saved the other half in the fridge to harden up as I will use it as a mix-in for a protein powder/sludge bowl tomorrow. Overall I think that I prefer quest bars a bit nuked (10 seconds) but don’t mind them on the harder/chewier side especially as a mix-in to a protein powder / sludge base.
Formula
6g Fat
20g Protein
25g Carbs
16g Fiber
This bar does have added Cocoa Butter, Cocoa, Unsweetened Chocolate, and Caramel Color which do help enhance the overall flavoring of the WPI/MPI protein blend in the bar
Cost
Usually around 20-25$ for a box of 12 bars. Overall it’s a very cost effective bar, it’s a very good tasting bar, and the caloric breakdown is fantastic for a snack/meal when in a pinch. Quest offers a great value bar.

Off topic but thinking of picking up the quest peanut butter cups. Any feedback on taste and relative size to the real ones? Need to curb my real Reese consumption lol
