My predictions - 3 Upsets.
Wolf2013.jpgThis is Europe - it's not Vegas, it's not Columbus; it's in close proximity to Germany & Austria, where legions of German-speaking fans will prolly fill the rafters and cheer for Dennis Wolf. And it just won't be native fans, I've had a week to speak to people from all over the world via facebook, youtube, & email. There's literally a split right down the middle of people that believe Dennis Wolf had Kai in the pre-judging (and beat him for that matter.
1. Dennis "The Hungry" Wolf*
2. Phil "The Gift" Heath
3. Kai "The Predator" Greene
4. Shawn "Flexatron" Rhoden
5. Roelly Winklaar*
6. Lionel Beyeke*
I must admit, I've compared shots of Wolf & Kai, and I find myself preferring Wolf in all but one, MAYBE two shots.
And, the difference between Phil & Kai is mainly subjective - it's really about what you like. I honestly don't think Phil bested Kai on conditioning (any takers?), certainly not on posing (that's funny), and although I didn't see their individual routines, I doubt that or the night show really amount to that much anyways. If Dennis can beat Kai, he could just as well beat Phil.
The Fallout: A Windfall for All
If Dennis won the Arnold Classic Europe, it wouldn't have the same punch as winning in Columbus (as this contest is still in it's nascent stages; however, it would be a great way to add cred to it, as well as mobilize the European base).
Another reason I think this contest is Dennis' for the taking is b/c Phil & Kai are not going to go through hell & back. Imo one is content and one is resigned [to the placings in Vegas].
Back in the day, the Mr. O almost always (don't know of a single exception) won the string of Grand Prix shows following the Olympia. But is no GP show; this has Arnold's name on it!
Historically, the Champ & Runner-up just generally go through the motions. The European tours were mainly an enhanced guest posing of all the world's best. It's been funny though when someone actually wants to upset the apple cart though! There was that one year Markus Ruhl took a GP very seriously, placed 3rd, and nearly beat both Jay & Ronnie!!
When Dennis broke that Top 3 and the way in which he did (leaving many to believe he should have won), you can be sure he's going to be the hungriest man up on stage. I just don't think this is defcon 3 for Phil or Kai. I think they're just going to go through the motions, yawn a bit here or there, and get their asses kicked by DENNIS "THE HUNGRY" WOLF

Dennis does always seem to travel well where as Kai seems to struggle with it, would love to see wolf surpass kai here.

Of course!! DENNIS "THE HUNGRY" WOLF is out for a win. This is his backyard! It's not just about the title, it's about respect. Imagine Arnold up there holding Dennis' hand up in the air and the two speaking in German.. that would be a media frenzy.
All things German would sell *wink* *wink* GAT. I know the owner is Hungarian, but hey, you got German in there and you have the flag. CHA CHING!!!
If the press/fans thought Dennis had Arnold's backing or Arnold's interest and he won in Madrid.. I (alone) could hype up the Olympia show like no other!!! Imagine FLEX, MD, IM, and the others. Best Olympia since, well this year
Dennis has prolly been suckin on a lemon wedge since last seen in Vegas. He'll come in so ripped he'll make the judges cramp up.Last edited by MITM; 10-09-2013 at 03:41 PM.

No way Wolf beats Phil Heath. Heath will win easily again.

I like Wolf, a lot. But he has a few flaws and some that no amount of training will overcome.
• weak calves
• weak forearms
• very thin in the mid/lower back
• high lat insertions
• Asymmetrical in his upper body
You can see how much bigger his left side is as compared to the right in the front and rear double-bi poses above. His lat, chest, shoulder and bicep are all much bigger on the left.
He will beat Kai, only if Kai comes in poorly conditioned.

I like the lower back personally; I think he has a flowing physique that's not blocky like Kai's. I don't agree that he's "asymmetrical"; no one is identical on both sides. He comes in very conditioned, he's got a lot of muscle, and what I like best is that he towers over everyone else (though I wouldn't call him tall).
If calves didn't stop Dexter, they won't stop Dennis.
No real comment on the high lat insertions. Not arguing the point, just don't think it'll preclude him from a Sandow. Though we're not talking about an Olympia here.
My other point is that what separates KAI & PHIL is basically subjective- what you're into. I don't think PHIL "beat" KAI. I think he was the best at that particular look and Kai was the best at his particular look. So if we can agree that DENNIS can beat Kai, then I don't understand why we can't agree that Wolf can beat Heath.
Let's see what happens.
I think it's safe to save Wolf is HUNGRY, prolly hungrier than anyone up there.Last edited by MITM; 10-09-2013 at 07:35 PM.

Heath will win. 2-5 will be the places to watch.

I'm not sure if Dennis has always had the asymmetry from the front, but this year I could not stop noticing it. I really like Wolf (always have), but in every video and picture I see of him from this year's Olympia, all I see is the imbalance in the lats. I don't remember every noticing this with him before...
