Question 12 months of growth begins...

These pictures were taken then day after my last contest (October 5th) via NPC Border States in San Diego where I did men's novice and got 7th of 12. I was 177lbs and 6% on show day. I was 179 the morning after in these shots (sorry they were not more clear....learning to take pics in bright lights yet....)

I am and have been since Sept 20th working with Jason Theobald on my show prep and now offseason nutrition objectives to add 12-15lbs of size by next October so I can start to diet down for a show in early 2015 as a bodybuilder vs a MPD athlete. I enjoyed the experience this last time but prefer the formality of the compulsory poses that bodybuilders do as well as the chance to show off ones legs which is my best body part.

Putting these up here for all to see and view makes me far more likely to stay true to my goals and objectives each day in the present even though my outcomes and goals are a years time or longer away.

The judges at this show made comments about my needing more shoulders, upper chest and lower lats primarily. General size improvements was a given at my height of 6'2'' but those areas they said needed the most work. So thats my plan now till October 2014.

you need more all over size IMO. you don't have much of a v taper, which is huge in MP. chest thickness, delts.....I would really take a good year a eat your face off, lift crazy and don't do a bit of cardio.

Agree - altho its not bodybuilding. muscle mass matters. The shorter guys can get away w/ being smaller but ultra-conditioned, but for your size, you just mostly need more mass. My guess is you have no problem cutting up, but the challenge for your next year is beefing up as much as possible, so you're left with what you want on stage after the dial in. And well know off season is when you grow!

I would also do some progress pix in the poses that are relevant for MPD. THAT is how they judge and care less about the std BB mandatories. And those are the poses you want optimized for whatever package you bring to the stage when you hit stage day.

You are in good hands tho! Looking forward to your results! EAT BIG! LIFT BIG! GET BIG!

One major obstacle I battle daily is the nature of my job. I am the afloat fitness director for the USS Ronald Reagan. I teach 3-4 fitness classes a day ranging from TRX class, Spin class, group PT runs/hills, Express Abs class just to name a few. I also do 1 on 1 workout orientations at the base gyms to sailors I design first time programs for...thus demonstrating 10-12 exercises per sailor 3-4 times a day. This amount of additional work related activity/cardio is not making it any easier to add size of course. Beyond this I do no voluntary cardio other then 30 minutes of HIIT style cardio every 4 days simply to keep my own stamina on par to do my job well.

Scooby knows what he is doing so I am sure he will be feeding you very well. I would also advise to have a hormone panel done. I have a strong feeling you may have sub par test levels.

Well now if we don't have a real world Dr. House in the room!!

In fact I did have blood levels done back in mid September to look at my levels of free and total T. I had a inkling that they may be low due to a non existent libido. Turns out my my total T was a pitiful 191ng and my free was 3.3pg. Both well under the low end of normal ranges.

I am now under the care of Dr Saya from Defy Medical in Tampa FL. They are a HRT/Nutritional Therapy medical clinic dealing with patients with just these issues. He has me on 2 meds and 1 supplement right now to remedy this matter (we hope)

    25mg danazol daily
    30mg dhea sulfate daily
    300iu HCG m-w-f

I retest my levels mid November to see if they have come back up and god do I hope they have! To be 29 years old and living a healthy lifestyle with hormone levels like this just blows! More so when you want to add mass...... and have a damn sex drive of some kind never hurt either.

Jason even had me run a 6 week daily cycle of USPLABS D-Aspartic Acid at 3g a day to try and minimize any further drop in T levels while wrapping up my cut diet for the last 2 shows I did.

Pics from this Sunday morning. 180.6 and 7.4% based on BIA assessment. 6 weeks post contest. Again...I am training for the goal of going back to bodybuilding thus the flexed poses you see here.

Very frustrating news is that despite 8 weeks of the medications/drugs listed above which worked great from early FEB 13 till early Sept 13. Got my T levels back up to the 800's. Now they have dropped down to the lowest levels in 2 years! I am at 118 ng/dl total and free at 5.2 pg/ml. T3 a bit low as well at 1.9 pg/ml. Being 6 weeks post show and eating more foods, less cardio, I did not expect this while being ON meds this far past show. Just got labs back yesterday and the numbers shocked me! No wonder I look like a stick, cant add mass, get soft easy when eating a little dirty and have not had sex drive in 2 months now. I have the hormone profile of a 80 year old women it seems.

Gotta wait till the 25th to have my phone consult with Dr. Saya from Defy Medical in Tampa to go over results and see what the hell we do now?

Jason knows all about it and he to says its in my best interest to find some medical/HRT help soon with numbers like this while ON treatment at my age and lifestyle.

Very very frustrated to see this as it makes all the best efforts at the table and in the gym almost futile with this awareness.

why back to bb? you still need more size for MP.
and I do believe you compete in natural orgs? you cant be on HRT, not even gel and compete there.

I understand that very well but as I discussed above after doing 2 MPD shows and comparing the experience with my 1st 3 bodybuilding contests I can say with full confidence that I prefer bodybuilding competition over MPD by a long shot. I do not dislike MPD but I much rather prefer the nature of Bodybuilding with how it looks, how it feels, the poses, the greater display of muscle development through showing off all of the legs and holding many more set/formalized poses compared to MPD. I need size for either division so I mine as well go full bore and shoot for what I will enjoy more.

I have been on HRT since Nov 2012 via Defy Medical out of Tampa, FL. Now I have only done 2 shows in that time.......September 21st via the ANBF and October 5th via the NPC. As long as I had my doc supply me with written Rx of what I was on and what for no one batted an eye to this point.

Bodybuilding/MPD aside.......my health is more of a concern right now as these values are low no matter how you look at it. More so for my age and lifestyle there is absolutely no reason for them to be bottoming out like this. Having a non existent sex drive alone just sucks ass let me say that all by itself!

I have been getting great help and treatment from defy medical in tampa since dec 2012. the first round of treatment they put me on worked like magic and had me rebound well in 3 months and i felt great. i then went off all meds from feb 2013 to early sept 2013 when symptoms came back. levels were down again. went back to original meds expecting good outcomes. but as discussed above no go at all this time. hope dr saya from defy can give me a new solution when we talk the 25th. in the mean time i will being speaking with an endo doc on the 2nd for nothing more then second opinion and comparison of treatment suggestions, med costs etc.....
