I posted this photo awhile ago on one of my sites and got a nice little history lesson by one of the fans stopping by to look at my pics. So glad he did. She sounds like my kinda person.
"This is Laverie Vallee, stage name: Charmion, in a photo by Frederick Glasier from around 1900, maybe as late as 1904. This and several other photos were used on a series of buttons that she handed out (manufactured by Hyatt Manuf. Co, of Baltimore!). She performed as a trapeze artist and strongwoman and raised eyebrows with a trapeze-based striptease - arriving on stage in a big dress etc and taking off one item at a time to about this level, and then FLEXING. Thomas Edison is said to have filmed that act in 1901."424803_10151356636066893_612031875_n (1).jpg

She really does have some freaky genetics. She smoked every other figure competitor there that day. I'm always impressed when a "nobody" walks in off the street and does that, so I looked her up. Very inspiring story! Her husband had died, leaving her a single parent. I believe I read she only trained a few months before doing that show. Now she's killing it as an IFPA pro. I was never so happy to get the snot beat out of me when I read her story.

Lmao!
I didn't know about the husband. She always brought her entire family, it seemed, to the posing clinics. There was always a guy there with her. I thought it was her husband. But yeah, she she was a newbie when she showed up. My trainer did her diet and helped her with posing. He didn't train her though.

Killed my arms at the gym today. Especially my forearms. The cramping is terrible. I've tried wraps, straps, gloves, false grip. All of the above at once, which looks totally ridiculas. lol! I'll even massage and stretch my forearm between sets when my trainer gives me time. If anyone has any ideas on how to minimize this I'd love to hear it. I'd get through my bis and tris much easier if my forearms weren't seizing up all the time.

Today I hit abs, little calves and cardio on my off day from my trainer. I don't usually work calves at all. So every once in awhile I'll hit them for the hell of it.
Abs:
Reverse cable crunches 4x20 @ 130,150,150,130lbs Usually go up to 170lbs but this machine only went to 150.
Incline bench crunches with 45lb weight. 4x15

Hanging leg raises 4x20
Calves:
On leg press - 15 slow, full motion calf raises followed immediately by 25 short, quick ones. 4x. 1 plate, 2 plates, 2 1/4 plates, 1 plate.
cardio- 30 min stepper.
