Keto and HIIT
I'm trying something new. I have started a cycle of keto dieting (using the Palumbo method) but adding HIIT two to thee times a week (in addition to the more traditional low-intensity cardio.
Thoughts?

I'm doing it for the metabolism-boosting quality and I've had fairly good success so far, but it's a difficult workout for sure. I haven't lost any strength but I'm not gaining either. Warm up, 3-4 all out bouts of maximal effort, warm down. 20 minutes max.

You will lose all your gainz.
Confucius say...
A ripped guy who eats a pizza, then does an hour of cardio is still ripped.
A fat guy who eats a pizza, then does an hour of cardio is still fat.

Time will tell! I consider it an experiment and will keep the thread updated as I progress.

It all depends on the person. Conventional wisdom tells you it's not a good idea because in a true keto state your amino acids would be the preferred fuel source at the higher heart rate but real world application says otherwise. Triple H, the wrestler, was on HMR about a year ago stating he did HIIT with no issues on a keto diet. So I say if you want to do it, just try it out and see how you feel and look. Unless your prepping for a show it won't matter if you lose a little muscle and then decide to go back to stready state only.

Quick update:
I've been keto dieting for two weeks with 2-3 HIIT sessions per week. I'm doing Wendler's 531 4 workouts per week.
My squat has not changed, my bench was off initially but coming back nicely, and I hit a personal best deadlift today.
I also started taking Progenex Recovery after my HITT sessions.
So far so good. It will be interesting to see what happens over the next several weeks.

Update:
HITT has not helped as much as I would have thought. I'm on a 2-3 lb per week rate of weight loss which is fairly standard when I'm on the Keto diet, and this has not changed. Interestingly, after an initial loss of strength I have resumed hitting my goals without much difficulty.
So, I have stopped HITT and have resumes low-intensity cardio. I will possibly resume HITT later in the diet when my metabolism starts to slow down.

HIIT is fueled by glycogen, not the wisest choice when stores are low....save the glycogen for the weight room and stick with LISS. Another option is to fuel the HIIT and weight training with carbs and go zero carb the rest of the day...you will get the benefit of the metabolic adaptations of HIIT that will enhance fat burning post training. Fuel the training, burn fat at rest....
