What is the most strange thing you eat over the holidays?
I would like to hear what the most strange food everyone eats over the holiday's is?
I will start out. I am in the very much rural deep south. I love chitterlings dipped in pancake mix and deep fried.
I also eat chicken gizzards, and livers.
During the holiday's is the only time I have these indulgences.

nothing weird for me,turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes the usual just a lot of it.One year my brother was smoking a turkey and he had a bunch of room in his smoker so I bought a 6lb. chunk of bologna and smoked it and had it for Thanksgiving along with the usual stuff.

I just stick to the basics...nothing fancy...then again, I don't cook..if the wife cooks a foreign dish I would try it.

Being Polish, my whole xmas eve consists of just fish. Fried carp, herring, trout everything and anything that isn't meat. Meat in gelatin. Nom nom nom.

You have my attention. How do you fry carp with all the small bones, or are they different in Poland? I have caught and speared many carp, but never eaten them. I always give them to someone who beats them to a pulp and then cooks it. Best fighting fish when you shoot them with a bow.

GD an old black man years ago told me how to cook carp.He said you heat your oven to 350.Put the carp in a shoe box without the top.Top it with butter, garlic, salt pepper, chop some onions and put that on top and then put the whole thing in the oven.Cook it at 350 degrees for an hour.Take it out of the oven.Throw away the fish and eat the box.
