Another IFBB Pro has died of heart failure!
Michael Aylward went pro at masters in MP. this is from his FB a few days ago.
"Haven't posted much on fb in the last few weeks, but a lot has changed for me in that time. I was training for my first pro men's physique competition while fighting what I thought was pneumonia. I'm very hard headed and decided I could beat anything, so I kept training, dieting and moving forward, even though I could barely get out of bed in the morning. Eventually I went back for more medical treatment and was told that I had had a heart attack at some point in time even though I never felt it (more competent doctors later told me that it was most likely congestive heart failure....commonly misdiagnosed as pneumonia). By continuing to train like I did I really hurt myself and my health suffered. I got so sick that I realized that competing was not in the cards. I just got engaged to Lydian Miller, and I want to be here to enjoy life with her for the next 30 or 40+ years. Almost dying is a very scary thing, but it does make you realize how precious life is. I have a lot to live for and new appreciation for it."APS HI TECH PHARMACEUTICALS ATHLETE

This is sad. He thought he had a second chance and then the worst thing happened.
RIP Michael.

CVDs = cardio vascular diseases
CVDs are the number one cause of death globally: more people die annually from CVDs than from any other cause (1).

That's really sad. This news we have been hearing in regards to these deaths has to send some form of a strong message to all the competitors to make health their #1 PRIORITY... RIP

Very tragic and way too young. Cannot tell you how important it is to pay attention to when you don't feel well over the decision to go to the gym. Never underestimate the importance of recovery. (even tho sort of beside the point here, but still the "do it at all costs" sometimes is at all costs...) Very, very tragic. My condolences to all those who loved him.
