R.I.P. Derek.
I found the DA Show to be addictive (although at times it sounded like a slow-motion car crash) because he was one guy who get to talk to an amazing amount of people without having to worry about restrictive contracts. Hell, he even managed to reunite Dave and John Romano for one memorable episode. Yes, he had 'issues', but I thought his underlying decentness and warmth always managed to shine through in the end.
God speed Derek. No more pain and suffering.

I loved the DA show when it was here on RX. I got to meet Derek for only a brief moment at the Arnold in 2010. He was kind, funny, and very generous... grabbing me for a pic and giving me tons of products for no real reason. Seemed like a really down to earth guy.
Sad news... my thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family. Rest in peace...

I have "Known" Derek from the beginning of online Bodybuilding forums......Remember when he was ALL CAPS ALL THE TIME? I have seen him go through many changes through the years. This is the look that was best on him.....
I actually thought he had a future as a competitor. He stayed close to the business though.
Rest in Peace Derek.......everyone else live life to the fullest.Gone but not forgotten, I remember you too Dookie!

Really shocking news....I read of his struggles and corresponded with him a few times on Facebook. I honestly thought he was going to make it.
