Question about arm size

Now, I know how funny this will sound, but my wife and I were laying in bed the other night and she was like " How big do you think the average male body builder or strength athlete's arms are? ".Honey, I have no idea but I know that pro body builders are usually above 22" in arm size, and strength athletes don't really train arms. I told her I would ask what ya'll consider large for arm size? LOL I'm sure we will have some colorful responses.

I would say anything over 21 inches deserves the 21 inch salute imo

IMO depends on a variety of factors, Toney freeman claims 24" arms, but he's also very tall... If you put shredded 19" arms on a 5'5 guy they look enormous as well...

Yes there are pros with 21" arms, but how many are on stage with 21's? Id say very very few. 19" on stage is huge!

Franco Columbu visited and trained with Arthur Jones in the early 1970s. Here's how he looked, compared to Casey Viator. Jones measured Viator's arm at 19 inches and his forearm at 15 inches. Columbu's measurements were significantly smaller.

Jones reportedly also measured Sergio's arm at 20" and Arnold's at around 19 1/2", iirc.



Frank Zane is also said to have refused to be weighed by or have his arm measured by Jones.

Regarding insertions, Jones or Darden claimed that Sergio's arms were larger than they measured in that Sergio's biceps inserted so far down his arm that he was unable to fully flex his biceps as it touched his forearm preventing that complete flex.



Darden also noted that measurements were affected by shape with Robby Robinson as one example. His biceps and triceps lined up perfectly allowing for a larger measurement? I might be remembering all that incorrectly, though.

Argue with my post but no one can argue with Robby's arms!





And one variable not mentioned so far that although it doesn't change an arm measurement whatsoever definitely affects the illusion of massive arm size -- your skull size.

My noggin measures 23 1/2" around, so even with an arm measuring 21" (which mine most certainly do NOT) my arms would look small compared to my ginormous pumpkin. Those lucky peanut heads! Their arms automatically look bigger than some simply by comparison to their big head brethren.

Sure it does that will give them a couple inches im sure. Fuck if i knew how to do synthol right and make it look natural i would like to add a couple inches on my arms.
