Planet Fitness To Remove Squat Racks

PLANET FITNESS REMOVES SQUAT RACKS FOR BEING ‘INTIMIDATING’
Planet Fitness regularly touts how it’s not like all the other gyms and encourages soft people to indulge in its purple haze of mediocrity. And now they’re taking it one step further: Getting rid of squat racks for being “intimidating.”

Redditor Kalerad posted his problem with Planet Fitness’s overly all-inclusive philosophy on the site’s Fitness subsection.
“I walked in noticing the outline of dust on the floor where the squat rack once stood. I was heartbroken. Especially since I had just recently found a love for squatting.
“I of course had to ask an employee “WTF?” He regretfully told me that a few days prior corporate came in and removed it because ‘a customer complained that it was intimidating.’”
The move is one of many — along with offering free pizza and bagels and tanning beds — to lure in the casual gym goer who might be turned off by gyms being a little too “fitness oriented.”
Either way, if you want to do serious workouts at any point in your life, make sure to avoid Planet Fitness. And if you’re the type of person who’s intimidated by a series of metal rods that make people stronger and healthier, we’re probably all better off if you remove yourself from society’s gene pool.Last edited by Curt James; 01-08-2014 at 08:19 PM. On the treadmill at the PF on Paxton Street in Harrisburg, PA. Looking across the gym, I can see the squat rack still there.
The facility is not the key factor. The individual is what counts.
I realize I'm in the minority here, but Planet Fitness is not the bad guy.Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | Join Rx Muscle on Facebook!

Happens to the best of 'em. Branch said (in a video) he was invited to work out at a friend's gym, & when he walked in realized the management didn't want him there. He left without working out.

Planet Fitness opened in New Orleans 5 months ago and they placed flyers on our cars while we worked out; my training partner is an state trooper and he said if he could have bought his rifle in the gym, he could have dropped him in the parking lot. Lol

I posted the following pic and text to my Facebook.
Squat rack at Planet Fitness? Paxton Street still has theirs.
Damon Harrington gave me permission to repost his reply here:
"I wouldn't take a piss in a Planet Fitness. If it didn't keep the unmotivated satisfied with mediocrity unwilling to truly commit to the lifestyle crowd away from me then I'd hope it implodes! But PF serves a purpose and it's anti bodybuilding & fitness commercials no longer piss me off. They've grown amusing. Notice the lack of them now? They were practicing a form of discrimination and ever since the commercial that took a shot at homosexuality aired they've backed off their bull shit. I knew if they stepped on the gay communities toes they'd pay for it and good! FUCK PF!"Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | Join Rx Muscle on Facebook!

It's $99 for the year which comes to just $8.25 per month.
Again, drop the hundred and your bill would be less than nine bucks.
Pizza and bagels are cheat day approved? lol
The manager told me she limits the slices because they had a guy who would eat an entire pie by himself. It probably varies by location and management.Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | Join Rx Muscle on Facebook!
