My condolences. As if it weren't difficult enough losing a loved one, sometimes the other loved ones (and maybe not-so-loved ones) get crazy. I have seen it happen before in my own family. Very tough.

I'm starting to make these more common-if I have an early morning/afternoon shift then I am staying around for the stairs-let's see what kind of improvements I can make to da booty and to my stamina!
And if you've never experienced the Santa Monica steps, that is just one small section-there's the famous wooden set and a winding cement set-they make a nice loop where you can go down one and up the other-and the view ain't bad either!

Cool, I did the stairs MANY times when I lived in Marina Del Rey. I used them as training for when I hiked the Grand Canyon, they worked, I had no problem.

it truly is! I was driving back from work today and I just kind of had a moment where I went, do I really live here now? I love it!
not saying I wouldn't return to NC one day...just not right now! I like it too much in my little Manhattan Beach area

so it's been a hot minute but I thought I'd come back and update y'all...
I am currently 8wks and 4 days out from the NPC Excalibur here in SoCal...and I won't lie, I am totally freaked out!
Now you'd think with three national level shows under my belt I'd be ok but I honestly feel like this is my first show...it's been seven years since I last stepped onto that stage...a LOT has happened since then, good and bad, and we will see what I wind up with come showtime
division will probably be figure although physique is not out of the question...shame this show does not have masters physique b/c I think that would be a good way for me to test it out...if you follow me on Facebook, twitter, or instagram then you've been seeing a few updates...I'm staying a little more under the radar this time but I think closer to the date (Dec 12) I'll throw up a few more updates
the butterflies are huge! but I think it's a good first step to getting me back into it...I have felt pretty good this prep...tired? of course...that's to be expected...but it has felt "different" this time...I think b/c I'm trying to use this more as a way to get my personal outlook more consistent and to get my habits more consistent...well, healthier...they were consistent before...consistently bad!

it has! it's hard for me to believe, too! every year when junior nationals rolls around I go, wow it's been X-years since I did that show! same with Team U and USAs...
that rational part of my brain is like, girl please! you've done this before (albeit, not in heels) so relax! but that competitor side....*sigh*...it is always the loudest voice!
