    Bob,

Have you considered using an intra workout shake? Maybe consisting of some BCAA's and Jetmass to get a head start on recovery? On leg day I actually like to move my usual post workout shake up to intra, and then have a high carb meal immediately following the workout.

This 100% kev you know I how feel about bcaas intra workout. I think they are such a valuable tool to have at your disposal when no matter what you're goals are. I never train without them in my intra shake. The only things that change are the other extra goodies while I'm dieting

My typical intra workout shake consists of Muscle Martini (aminos), Jet Fuse NOX, extra BCAAs, leucine, glutamine, beta alanine, and citrulline malate. I have that intra every workout other than legs. On leg days I move everything up a bit. I finish my usual intra shake before the halfway point of my workout, and finish my post workout shake by the end. The post workout is the same as the intra but I add 25 grams of whey, and 60 grams of carbs. I have no issues training with food in my stomach.

Youlike your beta alanine intra workout? Interesting...I used to be big on glutamine preworkout but now I've cooled on it a little due to the fact that it seems like higher doses are needed to really make an impact due to what appears to be poor absorbtion. From what I read it takes about 20-30 g daily spread out to really have any appreciable impact. Am I over geeking it?

Yes you are. LOL. I typically use 10 to 15 grams of glutamine a day. I have experimented by dropping it out of my supp regimen and the difference is very noticeable.....Less recovery, more gi issues, etc.

You know I didnt and Sunday would have been a good day to start.I am starting a new job next Monday. Now I have been at the company I am at for 25 years so this is going to be a major change for me.I contemplated this move a year ago but now it`s definate.I am going to have to have a lot of concentration for a few months until I get accustomed to the new job so I am changing my training just a bit.I am going to work legs on Saturday and then a complete upper body workout on Sunday and then just one more workout on Wednesday.I havent decided if it will always be upper body or altenate between upper one week and legs the next. What do y`all think?
Anyway I hit a complete upper body workout Sunday and it took about an hour and half so that will be a good time to start the intra supplementation I think.

Congrats on the new job, it's always difficult to make a change like that especially after being there for so long, but I'm sure it's for the best. Good luck Mr. Cook

Thanks alot Last, yeah at 55 years old the last thing I want to do is a major upheaval in my employment but it`s really not avoidable and the new company is eager for me to join them.It should be for the best.

Congrats on the new job! Changing jobs after being there for 25 years takes courage. I admire you. I actually like the idea of splitting the body in two, training three times a week, and alternating workouts. If I was to do it though rather than just split the body into upper and lower, I would do the following: Legs and bis (and/or tris) and back, chest, shoulders (and whatever part of the arm, if any, you had not trained). I have found splitting the body this way makes each workout take about the same time. In my experience, all upper ends up being a longer workout than just lower.

This is a perfect time to being an intra workout protocal. I suggest JetMass and some BCAAs....Muscle Martini is perfect. You can even throw in some extra carbs if you want to fuel those long workouts.

Change is always tough, especially if youre a grumpy old man ; )....but at the end of the day ive come to realize that most things are never as bad as we anticipate. Its just getting over that initial hump that's scary. Familiarity is reassuring, even if what youre familiar with makes you miserable. Take the leap, enjoy the ride....and listen to everything Kev says because he's the best!

Yeah I`m actually looking forward to it.I will just be glad when I get into that nice comfortable rut we eventually get in.Good workout this morning.Worked chest.shoulders and back with flat bench.incline.military press, laterals then a bunch of pulldowns and rows.Jay you are right about Kevin. We are fortunate to have him and a few others here that are so knowledgable and willing to help.Sometimes I feel guilty getting all their advices for free.
