Krista Brown: My Journey to USA Championships... God Help Me!
I am kinda freaking out... 105 days until USA's... Thats really not very long and I want my Pro Card so bad... just like everyone else I will be stepping on stage with.
My training is right on track. I am still trying to add more size to my back and arms but time is of the essence. I use a lot of pully's for my arms and back with my Versa Grips (they make a huge difference in stress level on my elbows which helps with my tendonitits).
I start phase two of my Nutrition on Sunday. Low glycemic... woo hoo!
I would love any training tips for back and arms. Please keep in mind I have elbow tendontitis, I will try any thing to see how the movement feels.
I will get into more detail as my weeks progress.
Thanks for your time. I appreciate it very much.
God loves you.

I'm doing Women's Physique. I'm very nervous cause my diet isn't giving me the results I got last time, so it's time to change things up.

Ugh I hate change!!
My wonderful prep coach has changed up my weekly nutrition and it's okay so far. I just thought the diet would be easy like last year... Holy Crap I was wrong!! It's way harder and my schedule doesnt make it any easier but results are slowly but surely coming in. I was pleasantly suprised to see my arms have grown 2 whole inches since December. WOOT WOOT!!! My upper body can use all the mass it can get, I'm definately not going to be the biggest on stage but God willing I'll be the lean and well refined and His light will shine through me.
Also if anyone would like to share thier tricks to curb sugar cravings I would be beyond grateful!!
I'm not big on sweets until I diet then the sugar bug attacks like a thief in the night! LOL!

Hi, even though we are at opposite end of the spectrum. I had tendonitis for over a year, It restricted me in everything I did which involved hanging onto something.
I used straps for everything to releive the pain and to try and do some exercises.
It is now gone.
It was explained to me that the tendons in your forearm down to your wrist from your elbow should be like an elastic band, stretch, elastic etc and from overuse/injury etc, mine had become like a leather belt. So as soon as I needed some elasticity the belt had nothing so it would pull on the the tendon at the elbow and cause pain and get infalmed again.
I was told I had to break the leather belt down ie: clamp down at 1" intervals on the tendon down my elbow to my wrist and flexion my wrist up and down to break down (tear) the tendon also deep/deep massage to break it down and then start from scratch ie: massage everyday, exercises etc so when it repaired it was elastic.
That along with heavy grip exercise like farmers carry ie; 100+ lbs in each hand and I'm cured after about 4 weeks, it really is like a miracle.
Hope that helps.
PS: as for back and arms, I just lift.Last edited by MISSLIFTY; 04-24-2014 at 05:52 AM.

Thanks MISSLIFTY!!
I will definately try this. I also use straps when I lift I use a compression sleeve with copper which promotes blood flow that helps heal the tendon, the massaging will help even more. I'm not familiar with the 1 inch interval clamps and flexion the wrist but I will research it and try it. It would be a miracle to heal this tendon.
My back and arms are getting some progress... probably because I lift... hahaha!!
I am grateful for your time and advice I really appriciate it!

Got my suit in today!! I am so excited! Getting my suit always gives me a little oomph and more motivation.
Today was leg day and I tried out the new booty machine. I can certainly feel it! I love switching things up in the gym... just don't change my food. hahaha! My go to exercise is one leg squats its a love hate relationship. I hate them but love what they do for my quads and hams! Those on top of the booty buster my tushy will definately be sore tomorrow. Being sore is kind of a high...haha! I'm a little wierd but I bet yall know what I'm talking about. I have to say I really do love this sport. I love the changes my body goes through and the feeling of accomplishtment when I've made it through the rough patches.
I cant wait for back day on Wednesday!!!

^^^^^Awesome! It seems WP is where all the action is these days!
I love the division! I also love where the recent pro placings are taking it! No, you do not have to have super muscularity! They are definitely rewarding balance, flow, symmetry & conditioning too! And with this division there is such a variety of physiques hitting the stage, anyone can win on any day! Just bring the best package you can & celebrate a successful journey to the stage!
Hold strong on your diet! You can do it! Cheers!

Back day was amazing as always! A friend told me once she worked extra hard on her back because she can't see it... it made sense to me and gave me a little extra to think about when I lift back and I hear her voice during every back exercise. Although, I like to work every muscle extra hard. It gives me a feeling of satifaction that the muscle group of the day has been exhuasted.
On a different note: I am seeing the results I have been waiting for... my abs are starting to come in. I think its a little odd that my abs come in first and my arms come in dead last when I diet down for stage. But I'll take it! Slow progress is still progress!!

Holy Smokes it has been a busy month... I just want to give an update. My nutrition is getting so much easier. This prep has been a hard one for me. I think mostly because I didn't give myself much wiggle room. But abs are coming in on schedule, I'm working really hard on my lower abs. Also, I have gained some good size on my shoulders and arms so that has been a great positive. I'm starting to see some good results so my mind is getting in a better place. Instead of the rushed feeling, I'm starting to become more at ease with my physique. I can only do my best so God can do the rest. I used to hate that saying but it has really been in my mind here lately. I love to train and oddly starting to love cardio (I watch alot of stand up comics during my cardio sessions!!)
I hope everyone is doing great and I wish everyone that is competing soon the best!
