Derek is right now "in season" His caloric intake is much higher especially since he is preparing for the Arnold. Right now he is taking in 6 and 8 thousand calories a day. I help Derek prepare his meals. Because he has a full time job it's harder to keep on it. Breakfast starts out with a protein shake and cereal. He tries to eat every 2-3 hours and never get to a "starving" point. During work he eats 2-3 lbs of chicken breast, a lb of cottage cheese, a few yogurts, 2 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or tuna along with fruit and snacks. Dinner/post training is a lb of chicken and or steak along with rice or pasta. Throughout the day Derek will supplement his diet with protein shakes. He is sponsored by MHP so he uses all their products. Derek also takes lots of multi vitamins, amino acids ect.
mon shoulders/cardio tues arms/cardio wed off thurs legs fri chest and back/cardio sat event training and sun off....he does a LOT of overhead pressing. Lot's of reps with his training and not all about maxing out. He also does cardio to keep up his endruance 12-20 min of intense cardio....
These were posted on youtube under Dereks GFs page. They are very cool about talking about and sharing exactly what he happens to be doing at the time.Just doin' my thing.
