    Default Neckache/headache

    Ok so I've been dealing with this for along time now. I've gone through a bunch of different things to correct it but its never 100% corrected.

    I get a pain at the base of my skull/neck and sometimes it wraps around the front of my eye.

    So far I've:
    Gone to the Dr. got put on sinus meds and muscle relaxer
    Got a tooh pulled because they thought it was hitting my sinuses
    Got my vision checked
    ART therapy which worked the best so far
    Regualr Chiropractor that helped a bit
    Massages

    Today I went to see the Dr because I thought I was dealing with allergies and my neck has been killing me.

    She did say my allergies were flared a bit but my muscles in my neck/upper back felt really tight.

    I'm looking for something to do at home so I don't have to go to random Dr's and Chiro appointments multiple times during the week. Now my massage therapist did say my one trap muscle felt like it has trama to it. It's usually the other side of the head that hurts.

    I've tried heat, foam rollers, massage chairs, and hot baths with epsom salts.

    I was hoping you hadn't tried chiro. That has been a miracle for me.

    When did you first start suffering from this mess? Can you tie it to an accident or a change in your workout?

    How do you sleep?

    Do you believe it's tension (work, relationship, school, other responsibilities) or physical (fistfight, auto accident, fall, etc.)

    Knowing the cause may not solve the problem, but I always try to trace my steps backwards to see what might have happened.

    Wishing you some speedy pain relief.

    pain started around the time i joined rx haha, i remember asking a dr on here for any suggestions, i thought maybe it was some sort of food causing it but it turns out when i tweaked the diet back then that it didn't help

    my job is stressful as it's customer service which i've been doing before the pain started, i also sit at a desk all day, the only real trauma i've had that was even close to when i started getting the headaches was when i had a cable snap during curls where i smashed my face with the bar and have a scar running down my forehead

    the information the massage therapist gave me was totally news to me as i cant really remember ever falling on my shoulder or back in a way that would have caused it but i did ride a lot of bmx as a teenager

    the chiro's have been awesome but the ART guy doesn't take my insurance so it's $50 a pop per visit so the $200 a month bill sucked after awhile, the other chiro was good and i'll see him again on saturday for a wedding, looks like i'll have to talk to him about scheduling a visit

    haHA Sure, blame Rx. ;-)

    Stressful job where you sit at a desk all day could be a factor. You've done it before the pain started but injuries can be cumulative. The stress and ergonomic factors could be the same as a repetitive motion injury? I'm not doctor, obviously, but I'd make sure my chair was one of those ergonomic mechanical masterpieces designed to maintain your health or all those correct alignments.

    And get yourself a stress ball and a toy phone where you can call an imaginary customer and tell them to #### off just to relieve some stress.

    Like I said, I'm no doc, but I do wish you pain relief. My neck was trashed from moving desks or just tweaking it somehow. The pain started to radiate out into my right shoulder. I was suffering. Went to the chiropractor (always that it was mumbo jumbo bro science) and was fixed on the spot. Just to say I know how much even low level pain can disrupt your life. :-/
