KETO and Fat choice question.......
I've successfully run Keto 7-8 seasons now, and I just recently started to play with Organic Unrefined Coconut oil in my shake(s).
My days are all very basic and consistant throughout the week. My fat comes from Whole Eggs, Almonds, Avocado, Peanut Butter and/or Peanut Oil, and once and a while red meat......My question is, is there a significant difference between the Coconut oil and Peanut Oil?.....Or "who really gives a shit?!?" A typical day for me has 1-2 protein shakes (depending how busy my job is) with fat and fiber added.....For the last 7 seasons I've just been adding 1tbsp of peanut oil to my shakes for convenience because I cant/wont eat a handful of almonds or a nut butter while I'm working with a client.....Is there a benefit to swapping the peanut oil for the unrefined organic coconut oil on keto??

There's always a small potential benefit to using a certain oil over another "less effective for fat loss" oil...but at the end of the day, it's like throwing a deck chair off the titanic...it's not that big of a difference...and you're still going to sink if you hit an iceberg (cheat on the diet).

Coconut oil is 90+% saturated fats. Butter is around 65% saturated fat. Not all of the fats in Coconut oil are MCTs, and butter. Butter is cheaper and contains less saturated fats and about the same % of MCTs. You want to stick with monounsaturated fat sources, use olive oils, they dont taste too funky.

Macadamia and coconut oil are the staples of my Keto diet. That and green veggies, but that's for another thread
