Johnny Styles producing the Olympia with play by play by Palumbo and Aceto with interviews by Big Lou, John Hansen, and Steve Wennerstrom? Man, that would be awesome!

Maybe NBC will have the sense to bring in color commentary by knowledgeable reporters.

What? Bodybuilding. And hopefully the whole show will be covered, all events. At least the highlights, right?

"announced a partnership to televise the 2014 Mr. Olympia contest on NBCSN. The partnership will feature two 90-minute telecasts of the 50th annual Mr. Olympia where three-time champion Phil Heath will defend his title at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas."

I think this is very good news, & may be due in part to Generation Iron, which just appeared in my local Family Video store.

Wow, didn't expect this anytime soon. Of course this is pretty damn cool, but I'm curious how they'll present things. The average TV viewer isn't going to come to watch with the same back info and experience that a fan of the sport would have. Would they really be interested in seeing an entire pre-judging? Doubtful IMO, but a shortened version with a quality commentary explaining the finer details (nothing like Bobby Hennan's old WBF commentary -lol) might just find new fans.

    Shocking really.

That along with the growing interest in getting bigger I have seen at my own gym in recent months, it looks like bodybuilding is growing.....not dying.

For a while the gym was filled with nothing but little dudes trying to make sure their abs looked hawt. Now suddenly more and more younger guys are trying to go heavier and are more interested in putting that size on.

In my gym, the young guys all want killer abs, period. You see them walking around, periodically putting their shirt up; they always tell me, we want to look good at the beach, we'll leave the mass to you, ole swole.

It was like that here too until recently. Houston is pretty big and the trends can be seen openly. There are way more guys lately trying to get that size on than there used to be.

It used to be you only see 2 or three other really big dudes in the gym but now, there are enough people pushing for more to even motivate me a little.

I think that age group just hitting about 25 bought up all the skinny jeans so everyone else is going for swole.

Does this mean it won't be streamed live by BB.com? And with a 90 min show we'll only see a few routines.

Now that there are more sports networks, it's not surprising they are looking for new programming, especially programming that does not duplicate what other networks have.

BTW, Sports Illustrated has always been bad on bodybuilding issues & will never change.

Well, they totally f'd up the one recent Arnold Sports Festival article. What an absolute waste.

But look for John Hansen's upcoming article! He tells the tale of when Sports Illustrated did things right. It's a good one!

That's just like back in the day when we had to wait three months for the reports in the magazine.

Difference though is we will see so many pics and videos before this comes on, it won't be a big deal.
