Wow. Infer much? Where did I say that? Was I referring to other media or was I referring to comic books, a medium where paper and ink are the constants (digital releases notwithstanding) and real people aren't playing characters?
If I were, I'd have "complained" about Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury (who is a completely different character from the Marvel 616 Nick Fury, so we can just avoid that particular rabbit hole!).
By "normal" I mean what has been the status quo for the majority of both character runs since their inception. For Captain America, that means the uniform being worn by Steve Rogers and for Thor, that means a modern representation of the Norse god of legend.
That they're white males is simply happenstance. If a white stand-in were used to replace Black Panther, Luke Cage, Falcon, Cloak, John Stewart, Storm, Bishop, Mister Terrific, Joe Robertson, Tombstone, Vixen, Cyborg, etc. and it were a stunt, I'd say they'll be "back to normal" as well.
Don't throw that race crap at me. I'd be just as derisive if Marvel/DC tried the race/gender switch with any of the above-mentioned characters because that's just not who they are.
I wonder if a minority board member has used the term "normal" if you'd have dealt the race card?
Not to split hairs, but Batman started out as a solo act...Robin didn't debut until Detective Comics issue #38, almost a full year after Batman's debut.
BUT Batman, the ultimate "non-killing" DC badass DID start out carrying a gun and killing seemingly with impunity.

Shirtless......my Son saw a monument to Crazy horse today and he asks "Dad, how come he doesn't have a shirt on?". My Son has an awesome build for an 8 year old but likes to keep his shirt on most the time?
Hopefully Black Panther gets in a movie soon.Gone but not forgotten, I remember you too Dookie!
