I think everybody is missing the fact of why comic books are so fun. They change things up, nothing stays the same, and unpredictable things and changes happen often...which is why it makes them so fun.

If the same character comes back fundamentally different w/ no connecting back story, it sort of confuses the whole thing. At least soap operas made an attempt at explaining an evil twin or miraculous return from the dead.

Most comic book characters have different origins and so on. They will make some books in future that will come back and go into more details or will change things up more. Or Marvell will make a anime movie out of that explains every missing piece.

I don't mind the changes. IMHO, comics were always fad based. I can remember one of the first comics I got in the late '60s, where Batman had suddenly become two Batmans, one good & one bad. It lasted for two issues or so, & then it was back to normal. These current changes are cut from the same cloth. What's wrong w/ a little mixing it up? It will soon be on to the next mix-up anyway.

How do you explain male to female transformation w/o a sex change operation? Perhaps like a parrotfish, who can sex change as part of it's lifecycle? That would make an awesome anime movie. If the DVD came w/ a some acid or quaaludes, I might believe it.

It's comic books. It doesn't make no sense. One of their most popular DC characters is a uber rich billionaire that is still crying about his parents.

There is another comic book that batman gets killed as a child and his dad because batman and his mom becomes the joker.

Flash went to a different time dimension by running fast around earth. Batman killed 2 people in his original comic books and they completely ignored it and now he has never killed anyone. Robin has died multiple times but yet the joker at age one billion can some how out run people and escape from batman and jail cells.

Superman went back in time by flying around earth. Hulk gets stronger and stronger and stronger and faster and faster and faster the angrier he gets but yet he still loses battles (that is like saying an infinity amount of strength gets beaten by finite number strength)...this is to top off the fact that he has super healing power.

we are questions non of those...but a sex change in a super hero is where we draw the line and can not mentally process it.
