Warming Up
My main question here is how do you like to warm up before/during a workout? I know everyone can do it a little differently or some not at all haha. IN the past I would do 10 min of light cardio before touching the weights, then would move onto doing warm-up sets before actual working sets. Now though I just go in and start doing some light mobility work/ warm up sets before a certain body part with no warm up cardio. For me I have found that to be a better warm-up before hitting the iron than other methods.
I still see some people who do cardio/stretching/mobility/warm-up sets all before actually starting the workout, and this will probably take them around 20+ minutes to complete, which to me seems like a bit much. Then of course you also have dynamic stretching which I have never really been a huge fan of. So again I ask what have you found or like to do for your warm-up?

Yeah I also am a big fan of rumble rolling. I have found it to help my legs more if I do it pre HIIT cardio.

It's usually so humid here in the summer I feel just a few warmup sets on the first lift get me going. But in the winter I add more or some cardio before training. Only like 5-10 minutes of cardio pre training at most.
DON'T BE AVERAGE!!!

Great topic!! I don't really stretch anymore, but I may start doing so again. For about two years it was a staple of my pre-workout and I really think it have a positive impact on my lifting and overall condition.

ehh i don't really warm up per say, do i start at lighter weights? yes, but not so light that i don't feel like i'm getting any benefits from it
for example on leg day i'll superset leg extensions and ham string curls before i squat, i do them at lighter weight and higher reps...but is it a warm up? i suppose you can call it that but i don't really think of it as a warm up because i'm still paying attention to squeezing and contracting, not just doing the motion
i do my stretching after my workout, and on upper body days i do some windmills and rotator cuff workLast edited by Young Gotti; 08-11-2014 at 09:47 AM.
