Hi Camela!
I enjoyed reading your interview. Overall, I was extremely inspired!
As a Women's physique competitior I struggle a lot with finding a balance to
to eat healthy after a show, especially if I'm not going to compete again for a while. Have you ever struggled with this? Is there any advice you could provide me that have helped you stay consistent and successful?

I just saw this. Last year was my first serious bulking period and I did gain a lot of weight but also gained a lot of mass. This year after my last show I plan to relax a little but I don't want to do the serious bulking like I did last year. For one I don't want to get any bigger. Just tweak a few spots and get tighter. And 2, I'm hoping to have some fun doing a little modeling. They want me ready for shoots at a moments notice. Though they don't need me ripped. So I have to figure out what is a good weight for me to stay for the winter.
Do you think being 10lb above my stage weight is enough? I'm guessing my trainer may want me to go higher. Just not sure how to approach him about it. Just wondering how heavy I can go and still look somewhat defined in pics.
Thanks for any input you may have in this.

Hello there Megan! So glad to hear that i am able to inspire you!The way that I am able to maintain balance all through out the year is to have a plan set up at the beginning of each year. What will my rotation look like once I am done with the show, etc. I have learned that eating clean is a way of life and so show or no show I am generally eating the same proteins, carbs and fats with set days for cheating when I am not prepping for a show. That way there is no wiggle room. I also find that I just stay away from the things that I struggle with the most because out of sight, out of mind and it just becomes a way of living. consistency is key to being a successful athlete and to also give a healthy balance of cheat meals while maintaining your meal portions, timing etc. I hope that helps and I will speak with you again!

I always say 20lbs over to be a max weight. Stay at 15 and you will have nice shape and when you need to drop some water you still have some extra lbs, but not excessive
Does that help?
Good luck on your endeavors!!

Hi Camala! Best wishes for your last few weeks of O prep. I was wondering if you had any personal mottos or mantras, or things you like to say to yourself to keep you going if/when you feel unmotivated. I competed in my first show recently and have set some bigger goals for myself, but a lot of times I get discouraged because I feel so far away from where I want to be. Thanks!

Do you focus on your prep or on your competition? Or it impossible to avoid considering other athletes as you head into a show?
