This topic is a passion of mine. I defend anyone's right to have faith, but please know you are wrong. This is a perfect explanation of why.

having taken a cadaver lab....men and women have the same number of ribs....I 100% respect your beliefs but when it comes to SCIENCE please do not rely on a poorly written book of fiction for something that can be proven
as for the topic at hand, you are welcome to believe your rationale as am I...that's the beauty of this world...I will not try to sway you on that one b/c I know you firmly believe what you believe...I will give you props for that

To each his own. I honestly don't think this is news worthy. He is making a personal choice, and I am glad we live in such a place where we can make those choices.

By having worked on one of the biggest retail store in the US, The first thing before hitting the floor was to study the book with the rules of the company and it clearly stated to respect everyones believes no matter color, religion or sex preferences. It was noted that one can be suited by not following this rules.
I remember I treated everyone the same way, while some of my peers laughed by the idea of helping "Gay" customers so they just put excuses to not help them.
I think part of my success of been top 3 seller at that store was because I never said NO to a customer and help them with the best of my ability and motivation.

Caroline,
You're all kinds of wrong.
Incorrect.
Intersex, in humans and other animals, is a variation in sex characteristics including chromosomes, gonads, or genitals that do not allow an individual to be distinctly identified as male or female. Such variation may involve genital ambiguity, and combinations of chromosomal genotype and sexual phenotype other than XY-male and XX-female.[1][2] Intersex infants with ambiguous outer genitalia may be surgically changed to more easily fit into a socially accepted sex category. However, this is considered controversial, with no firm evidence of good outcomes.[3] Others may opt, in adulthood, for surgical procedures in order to align their physical sex characteristics with their gender identity or the sex category to which they were assigned at birth. Others will not become aware that they are intersexunless they receive genetic testingbecause it does not manifest in their phenotype.

Incorrect.
Do men have fewer ribs than women?
What are the facts?
The Bible's Book of Genesis (2:21, 22) says God created the first woman this way: And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam [the first man], and he slept; and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in stead thereof. And the rib which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman
Some people think that this passage implies that:
hypnosis is all right for Christians (they are right)
because the first man lost his rib, all men since have one fewer rib (they are wrong).
How many ribs do males and females have?
The best way to test this belief is to compare a male's skeleton with a female's. When you do this, you find that men and women have 12 pairs of ribs each.
The belief that a lost rib, or a cut-off thumb, or a chopped-off tail, could pass from parent to child was a theory, long-discredited, derived from the ideas of French biologist Jean-Baptiste Lamarck.
Losing part of your body doesn't mean your children will be born with that part missing.
Generations of Jewish, Muslim, and Christian males have circumcised their sons, but they never give birth to already circumcised sons.
For centuries some breeds of dogs have had their tails cropped, but they don't give birth to pups with their tails docked already.
If you have a finger or toe amputated, it would not mean you would produce children with a finger or toe missing. Likewise, if a human baby is born with a tail, it does not imply, as even some very intelligent people wrongly believe, that they evolved from monkeys.
So a rib taken from Adam does not mean that any of his sons and daughters would have a rib missing. Men and women have the same number of ribs.

Sad thing is she's still going to believe women have an additional rib, no matter what she's shown.

You refuted her inane religious rambling with irrefutable logic; don't expect her to come lining up for this one. The unfortunate fact that people like her exist in this world, think the way they do, causes me some type of unexplainable pain. People like this that have the "right" to vomit forth their woefully ignorant opinions..devoid of any logic or substance or anything resembling a coherent thought.... Yea..the old adage "GOD help us all" seems ironically and comically appropriate here.
On a side note I really, really despise the fact that i have to remain logged in or log-in to have her posts ignored..because then i feel compelled to reply...mac is right.
