When you make your oats.
As you know there are a few (mainly 2) ways to cook your oats. Most common is microwave with water. Usually turns out ok and is acceptable if your on the go. But when you have some more time the stove top method I find always gives a better taste/texture to oats that the microwave can not do. I find this even more true with the custom blends from myoatmeal.com, where the flavors really shine with a slower cooking method, and also using a milk product like almond milk.
Then of course there is the overnight cold oat method where you simply used rolled oats, add in the milk/water and let it sit overnight in the fridge and in the morning your good to go and just heat it up for about 45 sec if you want it warm.

I notice oats in the microwaves almost feel "sticky" if that makes sense.
Never tried the fridge method. Might have to give that a try.

Yeah I have noticed that more when making regular oats compared to instant oats in the microwave. But most of the time I wend up making in the micro just out of ease and time.

i usually use the microwave for the above mentioned reason...it's quick and easy, for example on saturdays i try and get to the gym as quickly as i can because if i wait til the afternoon i've found theres less of a chance i go
just try and get a quick meal in
