Non-citizen competing in the US.
Hello guys, I have a concern about eligibility for certain shows and I thought maybe somebody in this form would be able to help me..
So here it goes: I have been living in the US for about 3 years now, I study here with a student visa. Recently I started competing since its something I've always wanted to, and I got " qualified" for the nationals.. BUT I somehow never thought that the nationals were only for citizens ( even though it makes sense). I wanted to still get my pro card, wanted to keep improving and I don't really know which competitions would award me a IFBB pro card without having to be a citizen here in the US.
( well why don't you just go compete in your country?)
Unfortunately that is not an option for me, I study a lot, and I don't have how to go to my country just like that for a competition.. I have at least 5 more years to go here in the US.. and I really don't know when I would be able to go back to my country.. so I would be wasting all these years for nothing.
A friend of mine told me that the Arnold Classic Amateur in Columbus Ohio in 2015 awards IFBB pro cards for the overall winners, and its open to non-citizens..
I emailed the people from the Arnold classic amateur to see if it is true and nobody was able to give me a real answer..
So my question is, does anybody know if the Arnold amateur rewards IFBB pro cards, or maybe knows about shows that I could do in the US that would reward IFF pro card to non-citizens.
Thanks !

Pic?
Because there are those who believe IFBB Pro cards are easily achieved. While they are issuing more today than in years gone by, it's still not something attained without a view-worthy physique.Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | Join Rx Muscle on Facebook!

If you do well in the Arnold some countries will just give you a card.......like you can petition your home country for a Pro card.
Gone but not forgotten, I remember you too Dookie!

I never said that IFBB pro cards are easily achieved. and also, I didn't ask to have my physique judged in this post or if somebody here thought that my physique was worth it or not.. I don't see the reason of trying to put people down, trying to evaluate if they are worth competing or not.. but if it satisfies you, I have a picture of me on my profile.
This is a sport for everyone, I compete with myself. Not with others, and to me my improvement IS worth it, enough to compete.

When I moved to the US in 2002, I was a national level competitor, and found I was unable to compete at the national level in the US, due to not being a US citizen. Unless things have changed since then....you must be a US citizen to compete at Nationals and the USA Championships. You can compete at North Americans if you are Canadian, American, or Mexican, but must qualify in your country of origin. I am not sure about the Arnold Classic though..don't know if that existed back then. There have been competitors at Nationals that were originally from another country, but unless the rules have changed...they had to have gotten their US citizenship before competing.
