3rd Times a Charm for NFL Running Backs (Domestic Violence)
First Ray Rice
Now Adrian Peterson
Now Dwyer?
The Nfl... and Running backs:
http://www.boston.com/sports/footbal...X2J/story.html
As the latest in what has been arguably the worst two weeks of headlines for the NFL in recent memory, another player has been charged with an act of violence.
Arizona Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer was arrested on Wednesday on charges related to an alleged domestic violence incident. The team later announced in a statement that they had deactivated Dwyer from all team activities.2013 & 2014 RX Member of the Year

This is nothing new, the only difference is the media.....the tmz's and public pressure. The stuff the Raiders and the Cowboys in the 70's and 80's did off the field are stuff that makes " Law and Order "......." SVU " and Criminal Intent ".

One must also factor how much is under reported and over reported. In the 70's and 80's no one heard much of everything about players personal lives because there was no social media, no viral videos, no text messages. You have 2 things going on here. The league with it's emphasis on doing the "right behavior" and the prevalence of access to players lives via social media, camera phones, etc. When those 2 collide, this is what happens.

There's a weird vibe in this country where people are getting ULTRA politically correct, but moral relativism seems to be the determiner of who gets hit w/ how much PC. Lots of bullshit, cover up, trumping up. Doesn't feel right at all. Great distractions for an external attack. Or maybe an internal one. Just sayin'.

This vibe that you speak of is the gradual transition into an Orwellian society. It connotes an attitude and a brutal policy of draconian control by propaganda, surveillance, misinformation, denial of truth, and manipulation of the past, including the "unperson" – a person whose past existence is expunged from the public record and memory, practised by modern repressive governments.

All I know is that so far I see all black dudes getting in trouble ... NFL is setting themselves up for a racial conflict.. Al sharpton has prob already started his nfl racism speech, I can see that happening soon......I will no longer watch espn or NFL network because of this garbage.. I watch those channels to watch sports not gossip girl shit. The only program on espn I can watch is college football stories. Or college games.

Yep, "1984" and "Animal Farm" were in my mind when I wrote that. The horrifying part is we sit here and watch a repeat of what? Hitler's rise? Stalin? Mao? Or something out of a 1930's societal sci fi? My parents accuse me of watching only Fox News, while I sit there and watch them getting their news explicitly from CNN & PBS when common sense says shit ain't right. I don't need to get into battles over which media outlet I believe.

I don't think it should be "One strike and you are out".....I do however think it should be "One conviction and you are out", too many talented guys without the baggage and more sense behind you waiting to get in.
Gone but not forgotten, I remember you too Dookie!
