#DLB & the WPD Ms. O - My Take!! .......By Christian Duque
Ok let me start out by saying that DanaLinnBailey has been an AMAZING ambassador for the division and the IFBB. You couldn't ask for a classier, more beautiful, and more driven athlete than her. However, I didn't think she had the best physique last year. I thought she was a shoe-in for Top 5, but not Top 3, and certainly not 1st place. That being said, she is the reigning champion, and as with any incumbent Olympian, you don't beat one to win - it has to be a TKO. Defending the title (usually) means the champion gets a certain degree of leniency, but not always. Some notable exceptions include Frank Zane in 1980 and Dexter Jackson in 2009.

I just want to say, for all the people who knock her physique and those duck faces, she is by far the most popular female athlete in the industry.
Don't believe me? All you needed to see was how long her line was last night at the Meet The Olympians. Longer than 90% of the men too.
Oh and her husband Rob seems to be quite popular too. People were taking pictures with him constantly.CutlerAthletics.com

Do you even read, bro? DEXTER WON IN 2008 but the statement reads he didn't get the leniency of a reigning Mr. O - e.g. ZANE in 80, JACKSON in 2009.
I must say, I really enjoy being away from the forums most of the time now, lol. // & Sandpig clearly didn't read the article (lol). Gotta love the forums... see you all in a weekLast edited by MITM; 09-19-2014 at 09:16 AM.

Good article.
I say Juliana wins by TKO. Physique wise this is a one horse race. But...we have all seen this movie before. So who knows. Its possible (but unlikely) a competitor shows up amazing and vastly improved and an underdog wins..anything is possible. Possible last minute switch in judging criteria (hopefully not). Dana is the defending champ and is cool, great personality and is a rock star for sure! But this is supposed to be a physique contest is it not? I say that's Juliana by a country mile. It will be interesting to see what happens

I think if Toni West shows up her best she could be a problem and an interesting thing will be to see how Juliana looks standing next to 5'9" Tycie Coppett too.....so I shouldn't say its a one horse race....anything is possible and its a seemingly evolving class, who knows. It should be an interesting show. I just hope they compare them all and everybody gets a fair look. Ill be happy if that takes place. Would like to see the best all compared to each other at least

^This. I think that the general concensus from non-DLB-rabid fans is that last year was a social-media attempt to stir up interest and following for the sport. While I don't dislike DLB or her physique, she was far from the best fit for the criteria the IFBB put forth for the division.

I love Juliana's physique and would love to see her win. However, there are a lot of great physiques in this years line up.
-Samantha Hill - (how I ultimately view the women's physique division to be according the the standards listed)
-Jillian Reville
-Tycie Coppett
-Olga Beliakova
Just to name a few..

Fantastic competition last night. All the ladies brought their A game and IMO set the bar on conditioning almost across the board from Bikini to FBB. The big guys were nothing special in the conditioning department. I'd love to see them lay off the sauce a little bit more and focus on size but w/ better conditioning. Edward Correa shows how that is done in the 212s ... every time, in fact.
I thought this was just a fantastic show all around and so many props to all the ladies who are defining what WPD looks like. Personally I think Figure is starting to get waaaaaaaaaay too jacked, but I really like where WPD is going.
