Kai Greene's Behavior is Utterly Unacceptable
By: Christian Duque
Bodybuilding is the sport we all know and love, and no one loved it more than the Godfather of Modern Bodybuilding, Mr. Joe Weider. Joe launched the magazines, introduced the weight-training systems, and together with his brother Ben, gave us the IFBB. The IFBB, unlike the AAU, considered bodybuilding its chief priority and wanted to spread the sport throughout the world. The Weiders, together with the help of countless others, set in motion a movement that lives strong today.

That's just the realistic way of saying he will always be 2nd to Phil in bodybuilding and life.

Thanks to Gail for posting/formatting!!
Thanks to Ace Editor, Proofreader Extraordinaire Corey Young.
I can't tell you how great it is to just create. Just drop everything and write - and know my content will go up immediately. It's also awesome to have #FinalEdits, where I can make sure my message is what goes out.
I'm so grateful to Dave Palumbo for allowing me to be a Staff Writer & for giving me the chance to write #MITM for 80 episodes. Dave truly rewards loyalty. Even when I asked to retire from #MITM, he understood and let me continue doing what fulfills me the most - writing & doing interviews on the road.
Being able to work with Corey is a Godsend. I'm so friggin blessed!! Read the article (I've read it 3x already -- LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!) Hope you guys enjoy it Peace!!Last edited by MITM; 09-23-2014 at 08:28 PM.

My opinion is that its real easy for you to talk shit in an article…but when it comes down to the brass tax neither you nor I are not the ones going through that moment at that time on stage or at the conference. All of them that made it there have the right to say what they want because they paid the dues. If the mainstream doesn't like it fuck em, why change who are what you really are for someone else's acceptance. I mean no disrespect, but this is just my opinion. You write well though, keep it up.

i think people are looking toooo into the event. water under the bridge tbh.
and maybe bodybuilding isn't for the mainstream, why does the author really care what the pubic perceives the show as... participation in this sport is to know the place it has in society.
Does anyone in the bbing community REALLY give a shit its on NBC?Bodybuilding

My take is that Bodybuilding never will be mainstream and that the public always will connect it with steroid use, this was a very small rage compared to other sports by the way. I think it was entertaining with Kai also on the pressconference, not just the boring. I brought my best package, proud to be here, I compete against myself clichees

I thought the article was a bit over the top, but the last line showed the writer already had a personal bias against Kai so I guess it makes sense.

Agreed.
The article to me didn't make too many relevant points, other than making a whole lot of assumptions and making mountains out of mole hills.
FYI, people aren't as stupid as you may think. Just because they see Kai onstage facing off with Phil doesn't mean they're going to right away go ROID RAGE. Some might but I think if anything, it helped bring attention to the sport that desperately needs it. Otherwise, we're gonna have another boring bout of the top 10 guys talking about their training, dieting, sacrifices....etc.
It's like, we get it, you train so hard but so what? I don't train to look like that so why should I care?
I mean, look how much we're talking about this, it's like that brawl between Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones, the interest in that fight skyrocketed after that although everyone was like this is bad for the sport and all.

This was professional journalism?
If any Kai fan-boys are butt-hurt as a result of this article, go buy yourself a grapefruit.
WTF? That had no business in there.
And IMO, Phil is just as much to blame for what happened on stage as Kai was.CutlerAthletics.com

You need to really read the article and understand it before debating a moot point. People are already commenting on mainstream articles online - calling it an example of "roid rage." There is no "if," it was happening less than 24hrs after the contest.
Absolutely. There's nothing wrong with levity in an article. In fact, it was also done with the hair braid/weapon one too. It's just for humor. As a Cutler Fanboy or a fan boy in general I can see that last line really angered you, but fan boys make it very hard to be objective. A good article gets a reaction out of people. Mine made you angry, it made others happy. Thanks for your comment.
Couple points.
First thank you for saying I write well. My article has received very favorable support and several IFBB Pro's have shared it on their pages, adding strong support. That really validates what I do. Others have disagreed, and that too helps shape my perspective.
As far as not changing 'who we are' - I totally agree. Only thing is, in fifty years, the fiasco of last weekend has only happened once. It's not what bodybuilding is, it's not what the sport is all about. This is why I felt it necessary for someone - anyone - to tell it like it is. To date, I am the FIRST ONE & THE ONLY ONE, and with that comes a lot of trolling, a lot of haters, and a lot personal attacks.
The pen is undeniably mightier than the sword.Last edited by MITM; 09-24-2014 at 06:55 AM.

George told Shawn Ray it was all staged. Which I believe it was too.
