My grandmother is 100% italian, there will be some forms of pasta + meatballs every year, or else she would probably throw an italian rage, same with Christmas.

I am sure this is probably the same in Phil's Family, but grandma hand makes the meatballs and pasta from scratch, and the sauce.

I have no idea the calories on that stuff, but it will make your mouth water.

I am very well aware of that, just stating that home made italian food is probably not the healthiest for anyone .. Lots of olive oil and carbs! mmm

i think it truly depends. the way they eat in southern italy is actually really pretty healthy. thus the mediterranean diet. however italian american food is butchered italian food all the stuff we love and its not so healthy agreed

haha my wife is cooking but its mostly my mom. wife is making eggplant rollatini (italian american), pumpkin biscotti (dipped in white chocolate), and apple cranberry pie ( all american).

when used raw it absolutely is! extra virgin olive oil is preedominantly monosaturated fat. it does have a low smoke point though so be careful when cooking with it!

My husband is also 100% Italian. Mrs. Rizzo here will be making sauce and cooking chicken parm, sausage and peppers in addition to some traditional TG foods.
