Thanksgiving Plans??

what does everyone do on your thanksgiving Holiday?

Myself I volunteer a Turkey Trot here in Erie, PA on the peninsula, and it takes place from 9 - 12, and then a reception/party is held at a local amusement park (in a small side compartment place) that serves donuts, muffins, danishes, and other baked goods donated from a lot of local bakeries which takes me up to about 2-3 in the afternoon.

I have to be there for setup at 7 AM , and then come home and finish off the thanksgiving dinner for myself and my family since I do all the cooking in the family. Basically finish the side dishes, and then clean up, and then back to work the next day. Basically aother work day!

how does everyone else spend the holiday ?my family is small and only my mom and dad since my brother lives in colorado and we invite my grandmother over.

Go to my in laws. Eat some great Italian style ThanKS giving meal and watch 6 hours of football. Can't beat it.

Work...nature of the beast. Prob head in around noon and leave sometime after 2am. Last year I was there around 4P, and left at 830AM. Haven't had a Tday off since 2005.

last year I complained that I had to work, currently unemployed and wish I could be working...funny how life works


with that being said I'm looking forward to the first thanksgiving home with my family in ny for the first time in a few years, so I'm grateful to have the time to spend with them

brother lives in Colorado with his wife as well
so its just me , mom, dad, grandma
Cousins do their own thing
I basically start the turkey when i wake up and go volunteer and come back and finish 5-6 side dishes. Boom done deal.

good on you bro, giving back to your community, I see a lot of threads which you seem to make bodybuilding food look good and prob tastes just as good, are you a cook or chef, or did you study cookery, as your food looks awesome, my fiancé can do magic with 10oz chicken breast and 200g brown rice, you got a talent, maybe you could do 1 meal a week break it down so us guys with 2 left hands can copy, and break down protein,carbs,fat per 100g, just a thought, but you could be too busy, but well done pal awesome

in the uk we don't celebrate thanks giving, so we have to wait until 25th dec for our turkey dinner and all the roasted potatoes/trimmings etc and home made gravy, we always spend it with mother father bro sis and their partners, and then at night we all get shit faced on beer wine, cant wait lol

Stuck working (in my office in China).

Oddly enough, the company I work for is putting together a little cocktail hour in the office that day even though we only have 4 Americans and about 500 Chinese (20 or 30 of which where invited) working in our office. Should be interesting.

Better than nothing...which is what I did last year!

Thanksgiving i keep it very simple TBH, because my family is very boring and plain

If you knew my family and how they eat you would understand
Dad eats McDonalds every morning, cereal everyday, and goes out to lunch for more fast food (burger king, 5 guys, arbys etc), eats popcorn or donuts later at night

Mom --> eats 1-2x a day and mostly snacks on candy/chips and drinks like 4-5 beers a day and smokes 4-5 cigs a day

I am the exception in my family. Brother lives out in Colorado now as a pharmacist after working in pittsburgh for 5-6 years and eats more my style with diversity

So Turkey, Veggies, Potatoes (few varieties), stuffing, rolls, no desserts

Live off fast food, throw in some booze and cigs = Done deal.
When they see me take up half the fridge and do not invest my money in a bunch of junk they wonder why i can save so much money because i do not buy anything outside of gas, groceries and paying bills.

Turkey and dressing dinner Wed. Night with my son and his family (he works Thurs.) Thanksgiving day is all mine.Workout early then the wife will put food out to eat on all day.Watch Cowboy game and then my TCU horned frogs that night
