I always get a chuckle out of people who think they know better than the federation leaders. The new divisions are wildly successful in terms of numbers. Yeah, and most of these complainers constantly harken back to the same dozen bodybuilders from decades based as if there was some puritanical obsession to the past. Back then we had three television stations, no cell phones and kids didn't sit home playing on video games, but were playing outside, going to the gym, etc. Times change as have the physiques and the sports media hasn't kept up with promoting the positive values of all the divisions, but out of laziness perpetuates these myths about the good old days and the lack of comparative value associated with pros of ALL divisions today. As with producing reality programming for television its cheaper and easier to pull out pics from the golden era, etc of bodybuilding and write stories about that along with bitch than to go out and do photo and video coverage of todays crop of noteworthy athletes.

Perhaps your issue is with reading comprehension. If so, allow me to lessen your chuckle-episodes.
Our general disdain of the MPD ranks is not due to a feeling of superior knowledge over the IFBB officials insofar as generating revenue goes. It is due moreso to the belief that while MPD guys are awarded far more pro cards, not just in terms of the number of shows but at different levels - bodybuilders don't get pro cards at the Jr. National leve unlike these guys - they are granted those while having to build half the muscle, and with zero focus from a judging standpoint on thigh development. All while posing on stage like they're on a fashion catwalk in Milan.
Thus, all aspects of this sport are far easier for them, and instead of that resulting in fewer pro cards, it has resulted in more. And, as was mentioned earlier by another poster, these MPD guys seem to boast more than anyone else about their pro status on social media.
From not hitting poses or dedveloping a posing routine, (which, incidentally is a primary focus for me and many other competitors precontest and exhausting work), to less-painful drug protocols, to not having to develop themselves via brutal training to BB level sizes, everything is easier.
Yet, again, the reward is not correlative to the effort.
Fuck MPD.Last edited by Maniacal; 12-19-2014 at 03:44 PM.

Rather like baseball fans have a problem with rules for MLB. They are immaterial to me. I cover the sport as it exist and don't sideline quarterback or backseat drive. You have a problem with it and aren't doing anything more than bitching. If you wanted to effect change maybe either ask about purchasing the fed and run as its king or start your own. Men's Physique and bikini competitors represent half of the NPC membership. Don't even know if you are a member, but even if so you are but one along with the bodybuilders who are in the minority. Like it or.... tough shit actually.

I am an existing member, but that is hardly relevant. You seem to hold strong opinions as you have stated, yet you disregard others'. An infantile approach to debate.
Do you really believe that the back and forth on an internet forum is thought to have any direct impact on the federation by any poster? I would hope you don't think that. Thus, my intent as with many others, is to simply explain my point of view and debate the issue. You, apparently, seem to think that unless one decides to purchase the IFBB they can only hold opinions that support all IFBB efforts.Fill up the syringe...

People keep saying (Chris Aceto) that Sadik would be a great Bodybuilder as opposed to a MPD guy.....I don't see it? He has a great Physique but would not make the top 15 in any weight class at the Bodybuilding Nationals.
Middleweight? Light heavy....no way.Gone but not forgotten, I remember you too Dookie!

Structurally speaking is most likely what guys like Aceto are referring to, regarding potential.
That being said, it makes more sense to say he does have potential for bodybuilding when he looks good now (relative to his division) as oppose to claiming the opposite. That is, there's no potential (significantly speaking) in the future i.e we don't know how his body would respond to bodybuilding training, diet and drug regimens."Branch Warren is a horrible little gorilla bear so who gives a f**k?"

Although he should be competing in bodybuilding, he is, in fact an IFBB Men's Physique Pro. Okay.
