Great video!! I think Joe Gold's contributions to body building go unnoticed for some reason.

1981 was the end of the Golden Era of bodybuilding on the west coast, according to Ric Drasin. When asked why this was, he replied, “It was just a new era, Gold's moved to another location, World Gym opened, lots of guys split and that was it. It's like leaving high school and going to college.” Asked when it started, he said, “I think it started 70/71.”

Great video . My first trip out to cal was 87 and I made sure I hit worlds as well as golds . Not sure when worlds moved , as rik says , but when I first went it was still in the first building with the outdoor area .
