Is there hope for athletes getting paid by sup companies?
I just see a sharp turn for the worst for these poor athletes looking to get paid from their employer aka sup company. Where do you see this going in 5 years? I hopefully believe that something will find a:

Create your position. Look for revenue streams. Don't wait for someone to offer you a job or to set you up.

NPC bikini competitor got offer for $2300US yesterday for a 10 minute video. I see this all the time.
Could you make a 10 minute posing video for a client for $2300US?
One of my friends is apparently leaving this money on the table and as a photographer/videographer that shoots content for $150/2hr shoots I'm thinking this is an opportunity to capitalize and you are looking a gift horse in the mouth. Yeah this guy could be a creep and want you doing Lord only knows what, BUT that doesn't mean you can't make videos in your own style and get good sales via your own style. Think about it. You are all doing marketing on social media, but what do you have to sell? And although some offers you will get will surely be unseemly if you apply some business sense to yourself as a brand there is potential that you can generate untold financial benefits whether strictly as a model or sharing training and nutrition tips along with a bit of behind the scenes lifestyle footage mixed in. I speak to many clients about this regularly. Start developing your brand today and don't wait to be "discovered" by some brick and mortar media business or supplement company as you have the same access to the market as they do through your social media, etc. Be your own brand ambassador first.

We joke about GFP and women in the industry doing porn, but the fact that such things exists shouldn't deter someone from doing their own content for sale regardless of what they are or are not wearing.
Plus, porn is defined differently.
Most gals still think posing for Playboy is classy. On that subject there is a casting call for them in Miami for March.

Any pro who has such an unwarranted sense of entitlement to feel that they are deserving of any sponsorship that would prevent them from having to work for their money is an arrogant loser who deserves the poverty this thread assumes they live (or will live) in.
Gutcheck - if you wished to make millions off of your passion you should have further developed your fucking jump shot.
Bodybuilding is a niche sport that those who partake in have strong passion for. It is not a sport for 99% of competitors that is translatable into a steady revenue stream.
The sheer laziness of many competitors, always looking for a fucking handout is sickening and I say this as a competitor myself.
Get a fucking job, be disciplined in your activities and then, once you have a steady income coming in, feel free to look for supplemental income from this shit.Last edited by Maniacal; 02-03-2015 at 12:23 PM.

I don't actually know many unemployed competitors that are successful onstage. Its a rather expensive sport to start with and there are plenty of competitors that work as engineers, doctors, lawyers to name just few of their careers. While I still do some contract work for supplement companies I likewise encourage athletes to respond to casting calls of which there is no shortage. One such casting call with the Rock was answered by one of my photoshoot clients and she got the call back. She is a stay at home mom, but a former airline pilot and her husband is likewise an airline pilot that provides them sufficient income for her to stay at home and raise their children while prepping for shows and developing her fitness related business.
