Taipei/Beijing, Feb 4 (IANS) At least 25 people were killed when a Taiwan TransAsia Airways plane plunged into the Keelung river in Taipei Wednesday morning barely 10 minutes after takeoff.
A total of 15 survivors have been taken to nearby hospitals in Taipei and New Taipei cities, Xinhua news agency reported citing disaster relief authorities. The plane's two black boxes have been recovered and should be deciphered by Wednesday night.
Flight GE235 was headed for Kiamen from Taipei with 53 passengers on board, including 31 from the Chinese mainland, and five crew. Three of the mainland passengers are known to be children.2013 & 2014 RX Member of the Year

Creepy how this dashboard cam video of the crash is embedded without credit on tons of news sites now. Predatory journalism at its worst. If it bleeds it leads.

When you mentioned predatory journalism I immediately thought of Nightcrawler, but man, oh, man! That video of the plane barely missing the bridge is NOT something you see every day. Crazy footage that I would have slammed on the 6 o'clock news, too. Insane!

The "youtube-ization" of the news media though is irritating.
Story on local news yesterday caught my attention reporting as fact without quoting anyone that a person was revived after 45 minutes without a pulse. Give me three cited sources without editorializing as fact and original reporting not paparazzi coverage taken off youtube.Last edited by Musclepapa John; 02-05-2015 at 12:46 PM.
