Perhaps DLB has some of the ol' Arnold mojo? We could use an infusion of that in the industry.

Agreed!
Its the updated 21st century type with their own ability to utilize the media tools to build a large sustainable fan base without the help of brick & mortar "media gatekeepers" such as magazines, television, radio, etc. Arnold had help, but then transcended the sport. I'd like to see DLB & Rob help the sport transcend niche status.

Good video, there is some delusional or mislead kid on who wrote an essay in the comments arguing that DLB is natural.

These ain't-it-a-shamers are getting edged increasingly to the fringe of fitness industry opinion. They can go on crying into their IIFYMs as long as they like, but the world has changed underneath them. We don't live in an era where bodybuilding can be sustained by itself (that's been over since figure competition started) & since we can no longer depend on traditional media (i.e., ESPN & Fox Sports), we have to invent the wheel ourselves. We did. NPC competition is now multiple & varied, & it has brought a lot of new attention & money to the table. The best parts of it, to my mind, are that couples can now meet, marry & compete within the fitness industry, & that NPC members can hope to get an IFBB qualification without use.

Agreed. Things are better in so many ways with more opportunities for so many more based on what they can produce on their own with the help of media tools kids are learning in high school now. While some whine about how bad things are its mostly because they don't understand it and are having problems adapting or ignorant of the advantages.

From what I recall at the Meet the Olympians her line was all the way down that hall with fans waiting to see her. The Arnold Columbus, Arnold Brazil & Orlando Europa she had the longest lines except in Brazil one of their MMA fighters surpassed everyone. In Orlando she stayed till nearly 11pm long after everyone else had packed up and went to their hotels and she continued to greet fans.

Several years ago, I clicked on DLB's YouTube profile & joined her channel. In a reply, she personally thanked me for the add. Obviously she can't do that anymore, since she's got a zillion fans. But DLB knows how to promote herself, & her husband is no slouch in the promotion department either. However, they have to have something special to promote--and they do.

Really down to earth and smart about marketing too. Notified him of thread yesterday afternoon and he checked it out and noted he liked the thread and I teased him about their going to get gray hair prematurely from overwork. He teased back that gray hair was cool. Like I told him he cold make anything cool.
Its in their nature I reckon to make everything click just right.
