Menopause and Low Sex Drive..... some good advices?
Wife is goin' through and it's definitely taking a toll.
She's going to consult with her doctor, but if any ladies have gone through it or know those who have, have they found a way to get their mojo back? If so how?
Would HRT be a solution?

My wife had a hysterectomy 15 years ago and has been on estrogen ever since and all is good even in the sex department.

I have heard of women of that age taking estrogen with just a taste of testosterone and it improving libido.Problem is no one has told me how much a "taste" is??? I don't want the wife growing a beard.

Good luck with this. Whatever she does, it needs to be consistent. I have been through this with two women and it's a real bear. But... it can be done and also have no success. The frustration of getting it right can be difficult and time consuming. Or, you could be one of the lucky ones with a knowledgeable doctor.
Testosterone will definitely give them their libido back, but it's all has to be monitored closely by a good endocrinologist and not just family doctor giving out some HRT med.
Too much or little estrogen makes a world of difference. Balance of all hormones is the key and blood work is the only way to know where she is at.

low sex drive during menopause is normal. But there are some women who has increased their drive when they reached the menopausal phase. It really depends on the person. Estrogen being administered through injection might be the best option but there are Estrogen supplements available as well.

wife had initial consultation.
Doctor didn't want to pursue any hormonal treatments at this time... at least until after bloodwork results on hormone levels come back.
She did recommend initially trying some natural or homeopathic remedies:
1.) Evening Primrose Oil
2.) Vitamin D
I'm learning more about the benefits of vitamin D for energy and mood, but I know less about the primrose oil. Have any ladies had any experience with it and has it enhanced your libido?

I hadn't heard of this for menopause issues before, but I'm actually not surprised - Evening Primrose Oil is frequently recommended for everything from managing menstrual issues to inducing labor. I found a couple conflicting articles about the labor thing, but I guess the point is that it apparently has some regulating effects around the female reproductive system.
Would definitely love to hear how this approach works!

as a the husband of someone who is peri menopausal I am at once utterly sympathetic to what you're going through and in admiration of your seeking treatment and counsel from your doctor and your commitment to keeping a date night with your husband. In my humble opinion this is hugely important. Suffering in silence which is what's happening for my wife can lead to detachment in the marriage and nothing good happens in that situation. So my only advice is keep the lines of communication open with your husband. You're in that brand new married couple phase which should make it easier to do like that. It gets tougher as you go. But the habit you develop today can sustain you in the long run. I'm sending thoughts of postlivity to you both and hope things get better. Hang in there.
