Michigan mom selling breast milk online to body builders

A Michigan mom has found a way to turn her excess breast milk into extra money by selling it to online to body builders across the country.


Lisa Carbonneau, a stay-at-home mother of three, is selling her breast milk for about a dollar per ounce on Craigslist or to the highest bidder, MyFoxDetroit.com reported.


“Right now I have over 70 ounces,” Carbonneau told MyFoxDetroit.com.


Her clientele includes mothers who cannot breastfeed and body builders, and she works under the sales pitch of, “I do not drink, or do drugs, and I take a multi-vitamin daily.”


Carbonneau currently works on her own, but has had offers from other parties looking to employ her.


“I actually got one text it says ‘Do you have fresh milk available? I’ve been paying $4 per ounce to single moms to help out, $3 otherwise, if interested,’” she told the news station.


While the trend among body builders is on the uptick, not all in the medical community are sold.


“Breast milk probably isn’t your best mode of action here,” Dr. Shaun Jayaker of St. John Providence Hospital told MyFoxDetroit.com. “Breast milk has less protein than cow milk you can buy at the store.”


But for the naysayers, Carbonneau said to simply look at the growth of her 5-month-old son.


“I have a 20-pound 5-month-old who is growing like a weed,” she told the news station. “If the nutritional value is good enough to sustain his life, why not add a few extra vitamins to your diet.”

Yeaah bud all the good enzymes and bacteria will be killed … Maybe even some growth factors will vanished because of the heating. If it's pasteurized it loses all his appeal (for bodybuilding purposes) I guess.
