The Arnold was a blast. Species Nutrition's booth had a planche challenge, a pushups contest where people could win prizes, product tosses for those with quick reflexes, Species celebrities including Tammy Patnode, Akim Williams, Sarah LeBlanc, Heather Dees, and more.

Dave Palumbo was emceeing the events. Karenne, Johnny, Lorenzo, Siddique, and Amanda were assisting Expo attendees make their supplement choices. Look for videos of some of the events ASAP. Had a camera along when I stopped at the booth. Tons of people there and all over the expo hall.

Also have video of strongman events from the one day as well as clips of the masses of fellow shufflers. We were jammed in!

Spent the evenings at the Hyatt with friends including fellow IronMagLabs rep, ebfitness! Missed meeting so many people I wanted to see, but did meet the one and only diggy.

The Arnold Sports Festival did not disappoint.

The Expo was way overcrowded. Boy if there was ever a fire in that room it would be disastrous.

Why can't they move gymnastics to another venue and use that space to make all the aisles wider to allow people to be able to move through..

Not happy with the evening show venue. When asked how they liked it there was very little applause. How could people on the main floor with all the floor being level possible see anything. They had to rely on the video screens which really weren't that big. And if that's the case just sit at home and watch the live bodybuilding.com stream. They even sold tickets for people to sit behind the elevated stage they built for filming. Greedy. When I saw the floor was level I chose side balcony.

They also did not have a fitness entertainment act like they usually do. No color guard just the American flag sitting in the corner.

Thought the same thing while I was shuffling along in the expo mass. If I was 5'5" in that crowd I would have felt like I was being buried alive. :-(

Heard they're building on to the expo hall. Is that even possible?

The new venue is okay, but those chairs were idiotic. I bailed on my seat and walked up along the right-hand side of the floor and stood.

Watched most of the show through the viewfinder/zoom lens of my camera. Am still glad to say I was there when Dexter won his fifth Arnold.

The venue for the events was the Battelle Grand. It was not a good venue in my opinion. It was impossible to see the stage from the back as it was flat for most of the venue. You had to look at the screens and even then it was difficult to see as the video screens were small. Veterans Memorial was a far superior venue in my opinion.

I saw the amateur and pro shows and I found the prejuding and the finals were run too quick.
They would only do a few comparisons and then they would tell the competitors to exit the stage.
Does anybody know why the IFBB judges and the NPC judges are in such a rush? Is it normal to not compare all the competitors?
The judges may be able to figure things out fast but I don't get why the judges don't want the audience to see more comparisons.
Its almost as if they forget that there is an audience there to be entertained. Someone at the IFBB or NPC must have taken marketing at community college.

It would have been nice if someone at the Columbus convention center decided to have a coat check. It was quite cold on friday, so most people had to wear winter coats. It was really hot having to wear the coats in a crowded expo on Friday.

Saturday at the expo was too crowded. It seems like they expanded the expo as there were more booths. It seemed like there were less samples being given at the expo. Seems that there are a lot of new supplement companies. It must be a cut throat business as I didn't see a lot of more established companies there. Some of the companies such as Met-rx and Muscletech had smaller booths than normal. I guess they must have raised the prices for booths.

I did take marketing 101 at a community college and I could figure out that it is a good idea to cater to your audience. Too bad the IFBB and NPC don't make this a more fan friendly sport.

When the money stops flowing in they will cater to the audiences.

I think they should do a Fashion Police at the Arnold.

If you don't have the body for it don't wear it and please walk normal or no admittance. That should cut down on the over crowding. lol

GASP would argue against the enforcement of that particular wish or requirement. They make their money selling tank tops to people who have no business wearing one.

(And, no, I don't own any of their clothing.)

You mean Invisible Lat Syndrome? I walked like that all through junior high and probably most of high school. Extremely embarrassing looking back on it. I blame Joe Weider's Muscle Builder Power magazine.
