DLB Muscular Development Mag Cover: A Token Gesture or New Direction?
Congratulations to DLB on the major muscle mag cover at Muscular Development. Rachel McLish did it last in May 1996.

She's on this month's cover of Power magazine and also has a 10-page spread in the new Iron Man magazine.

I could have done without the "baddest bitch in the gym" stuff. Playboy is more respectful of women.

I'm guessing if most all of her fans go out and buy the mag, it'll set records.

Maybe they based it on something like this. These days you dont even know what the meanings of certain words have become haha. Bitch is probably something respectable now.
"Baddest Bitch"
Been around the world, I still can't find
Another girl that can steal my shine.
I've had my highs, I've had my lows
But you can't tell me that I am not the baddest bitch.Last edited by warthog; 04-18-2015 at 09:27 AM.

BLECHMAN did it to "look cool" and progressive. I'm sure he promised DLB that he'd give her a cover if she did "A, B, and C" for MD....... plus, with mag sales in the toilet, it can't hurt to have a social media bonanza on the cover. Once things get real desperate, they'll be putting MICHELLE LEWIN on the cover too!

Dave - you and I have seen that with our own eyes a thousand times over at MD HQ:
"Come here, everyone...check out the new cover."
*Cubicles emptied to gather around Alan D's with the cover on his computer screen*
"What do you guys think?"
"Looks great, Steve."
"Best one yet."
"Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes........."
In total honesty, I love this cover and feel that it is long overdue for DLB. As much as I'd love to kill them for everything, this one is pretty fuckin' cool.
I don't even mind the 'baddest bitch' cover teaser. She's a colorful personality in an industry that sorely lacks that type. But the other predictable and often repeated cliches that make up the rest of the cover lines leave me a little limp.
