Do the type of cardio that you have a personal preference for. Whichever one fires you up the most because you’ll most likely work harder at it. HIIT is quicker, proves to be more effective for fat loss, creates metabolic changes, and helps with muscle retention but not everybody can do HIIT. LISS is safer, but takes twice as long to accomplish similar things and it still has its place for fat loss in moderate amounts, from a pure calorie burning standpoint (meaning only to burn calories & not make changes to your metabolism). My intentions weren’t to favor one form of cardio and bash the other, even though it sounded like that. My intent was to educate and notify you that times have changed and science is proving some good stuff with HIIT cardio. But at the end of the day it’s up to you on what kind of cardio suits you best.

Man …
HIT for growing leg of Athlete. the way to go
HIT to grow leg of the bodybuilder (Very UNLIKELY, unless the guy is seriously undertrained)
HIT to burn body fat and preserve optimally the bodybuilder muscle while dieting. Not the way to go
Low intensity to grow athlete leg. Definitely not.
Low intensity to grow Bodybuilder leg. Not
Low intensity to burn body fat properly without burning the muscle (atrophy it) . The way to go
Well I hope you understand the distinction now. If not, I'm either a bad teacher or you ... well.

your body uses both bodyfat and muscle glycogen for energy...the more demanding your physical activity the more the body relies on glycogen (weiths liftuing, sprinting, etc), the less demanding your physical activity (light jogging, fast walking, elliptical at medium level) the more the body relies on bodyfat. It is not that difficult to understand.
When your glycogen storages are somewhat depleted-like after training-if you engage in medium intensity cardio, your body will be more prone to use up body fat to keep moving

do HIIT cardio after trashing quads? no thanks. Plus I enjoy my 30-45 minutes of cardio, it gives me a special time to reflect on the workout sesion we just went through, plan the next day in my mind and also it helps get rid of lactic acid build up. Me and COG also enjoy doing longer LISS cardio sessions because we get to watch the news on the tv screens they have at our gym, and make fun of people walking in
